Washington (eCanadaNow) - Residents in the Midwest were not celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday, they were trying to assess damage from tornadoes which left 21 people dead.
At least 21 have died in the Midwest since the storm system rolled through dumping tornadoes on top of those.
The storms have since continued into the south into Georgia and other areas.
President Bush has pledged federal support stating that "Mother's Day is a sad day for those who lost their lives in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Georgie because fo the tornadoes."
"We send our prayers for those who lost their lives. The federal government will be moving hard to help."
Hundreds have been left homeless with many damaged homes, businesses, etc.
