Afghanistan (eCanadaNow) - A US led attack in Afghanistan left seven children dead from an air strike.
The US-led coalition stated that they had solid intelligence that there were Al Qaeda fighters in a safe house in eastern Afghanistan which they absolutely had to take out. The complex where the safe house was though was also near a mosque and a religious school.
This did not stop the attack though as they went ahead with the air strike and killed seven children. The coalition put out a statement which read that "Early reporting has that seven children at the madrassa died as a result of the strike."
Reports were that Al Qaeda fighters were present all day in the area. They arrested two men and also killed several militants thought to be a part of Al Qaeda.
