Washington (eCanadaNow) - Josef Fritzl has blamed the Nazis as well as Hitler for his behavior in commiting incest and locking his daughter in a dungeon for 24 years.

He stated that Hitler's Germany made him believe in "control and the respect of authority."

He stated he believed he truly rescued his daughter when she was 18-years old, then locking her un a dungeon for 24 years.

The claims were released by Fritzl's lawyer who stated he was just trying to keep her from going out to bars.

The 73-year old Fritzl confessed to locking his daughter in a prison under his family home in Amstetten, near Vienna.

He also fathered seven of her children.
