Washington (eCanadaNow) - The Olympic torch reached the top of Mount Everest on Thursday, the top moment of the Beijing Olympics torch relay.
The torch reached the top of Mount Everest three months before the launch of the games.
Members of the 31-person team reached the top of the 29,000 foot peak with the flame in a lantern before lighting the torch.
The weather delayed their trip to the peak by a few days.
Security was extremely tight near the summit to try and stop any type of protesters from ruining the spectacle.
