Toronto (ECN) - A commuter plane crashed into a home and exploded in a suburban neighbourhood of Buffalo, New York Thursday night, killing all 50 people on the plane and at least one person on the ground.
The Canadian-made plane, a model of the Bombardier Dash-8 was carrying 44 passengers and four crew members on a flight from Newark, New Jersey to Buffalo on a Continental Connection flight.
At least one person on the ground was killed and two others were taken to hospital.
Emergency officials at the scene could not confirm reports that the flight crew has radioed the Buffalo tower, saying the plane was having mechanical problems.
