NASA is jumping onto the reality show bandwagon. The space agency is broadcasting live feed of the inner workings of the International Space Station. MSNBC is broadcasting the life footage on their website. This is great news for scientists and aspiring space travelers. The average citizen might not be quite as enthused with the virtually silent film.
The reality show depicts the astronauts going about their daily duties in silence. This new venture will hopefully breathe life into the nearly defunct space program. President Obama revealed his plans to cut the funding for the ISS program, which will leave the US out of the space race equation. Obama hopes the private sector will fund future space programs.
The live feed will only be broadcast during the working hours of the astronauts. This is generally between 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. eastern time. The broadcast will vary depending on the duties and space station visitors. The drama free reality show will be unlike the other reality TV shows clogging the airwaves. This will be pure science without irritating ads.
The ISS is currently hosting two American astronauts, two Russian cosmonauts, and one Japanese astronaut. The multi-million dollar space station is floating in space, 220 miles above Earth.
