Canadians Turn To Twitter In Protest Of The Invasive Bill C-30
Twitter has become the forum for opposing Canadians to notify Public Safety Minister Vic Toews how they feel about Bill C-30. In fact, protest against the bill has turned into the most tweeted about topic in the nation.

Opponents of the legislation say that the Bill will give officials permission to spy online without a judge’s approval. Several incidents caused the public to respond in such large numbers. First, a statement made by Toews was released, which said that those who are against Bill C-30 will be supporting child pornography. Later, information was anonymously posted on Twitter regarding Toews unpleasant divorce.

The @Vikileaks30 account was closed down after the Minister’s divorce details were displayed with a statement that read “I am shutting down before any other innocent people are targeted.”

An investigation has been opened to review threats made against Toews and his family. Meanwhile, irritated Canadians continue to Tweet sarcastic, observational and critical comments towards the Minister on new Twitter accounts.
