Steve McNair Jr. Picks Southern Mississippi

Steve McNair, Jr., the 18 year old son of former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has accepted a scholarship with the University of Southern Mississippi.

Although he was offered multiple scholarships, he chose to remain close to home where his family and friends can attend his games.

The six foot one inch, 195 pound wide receiver caught the eye of Division 1 recruiters while playing for Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg,Mississippi.

His junior year he scored 8 touchdowns and caught 58 passes for a total of 962 yards. This past summer, he suffered the tragic loss of his father who was murdered on July 4th. McNair Jr. remained strong for his family and focused on his future.

His senior year he scored 3 touchdowns and caught 39 passes for 372 yards.

In addition, he passed for 141 yards and rushed for 293.

Southern Mississippi is the school where his father held a free football camp every year. McNair Jr. will sign with the school in February.

Make your father proud Junior…..! Your dad was one of my favorite players in the NFL. He was a solid guy the was tough to take down. I met him in person after a football game and he really impressed me as a person
that cared about people and wanted to make a difference. I’m sorry about your Dad Jr …. He was a geat guy !!!!!

I know you will do justice to your father…I loved to watch him play FB, he won me over as an avid Titan fan the first time I saw him play and of course I followed him with the same admiration to the Raven team. He had gentle loving eyes as well as his mannerisms and I am truly truly sorry all who loved him, including myself as one of his fans, have lost him far too soon. I know all of his children will miss him deeply but you can be very proud of the man he was. I look forward to watching you play as well. God bless and take care of yourself on that field.

Sorry Junior your Dad was such a lowlife that he ran around on your Mom and didn’t give a crap about your feelings or his family’s. Have fun in college trying to forget your lame Dad. Best to sleep with one eye open… if you know what I mean.

  5. This is to Chris Taylor, you are a piece of crap. A worthless piece of crap. For you to come here and say something hurtful to an innocent young man that you don’t even know makes you a loser and a coward too. Iam glad tat you do not have the guts to say these things to his face because he would probably kick the crap out of you. I wish you the best of luck Jr. Stay positive and don’t listen to losers like that.

Your decisions in your life will be a reflection of the strength that will hold you together and succeed.congratulations and stay strong with your faith and will.

I concur with all of the previous comments about Chris Taylor. I cannot really say anymore that has not been already said with the exception of that he(Chris Taylor) is really representing his family well. Young McNair is bettering himself by going to college while lowlifes like Chris Taylor are sitting on their ***** trashing people in forums on the Internet.Unhappy people with low self esteems do these things.

  10. Robert says:

Good luck on your journey Jr. You have already shown charater and courage many of us whom loved to watch your dad will be pulling for you.
