San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum was cited by the state police in Washington for possession of marijuana this week.
the drug was found in his car after he was pulled over for speeding near the Oregon border on Oct. 30.
Reports suggest that Lincecum had only a small amount of marijuana and was not intoxicated while driving.
The police report said the vehicle smelled like marijuana and Lincecum had 3.3 grams in the center console of the 2006 Mercedes Benz.
“He was placed under arrest,” said Trooper Steve Schatzel of the Washington State Patrol. “It was determined he was not impaired. He was cited and released at the scene. The amount of marijuana he had is about the size of your thumb.”
Less than 40 grams of pot in Washington is deemed personal use and a misdemeanor. It carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The 25-year-old All-Star starter entered a plea of not guilty through his attorney on Monday.
The 2008 Cy Young is currently scheduled to appear before a judge on Dec. 22.

The only reason pot is still illegal is because the banks in America makes billions off dollars off laundrying the money. As far as Lincecum, I like him even more now. But he needs to learn not to speed when he has pot in the car.
