Today the the sports world is buzzing after Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn’s alleged cheap shot against Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs yesterday.
Yahoo Sports reports that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs was taken to the hospital at the end of the team’s loss last night against the Baltimore Ravens and supposedly may have a concussion.
Cribbs apparently got hammered after the play in which he caught a pass and lateraled the ball to a teammate was over.
“Heck yeah it was a cheap shot,” Lewis told reporters after the Ravens’ 16-0 win. “When you’re running down and you’re looking at the quarterback going at somebody’s knees who doesn’t even have the ball. I want to see if he gets the same fine I got or even higher. Now this man is out four or five weeks because of some baloney like that. That’s an illegal blow. I don’t care how you want to look at it.”
Quinn denied wrongdoing in comments distributed by the team. “I was trying to go for the ball carrier,” Quinn said. “I was trying to make the tackle on [Chris] Carr. I would never wish that upon anyone. I was upset about it on the field. He was someone I worked out in Arizona with. I will be praying for him.
“Again, we are sorry about that. That was never the intent. Again, I am sorry to Terrell and the rest of their team. . . . I apologized to the team as much as I could. I talked to Terrell as well, but he was in pain in that point in time and I don’t know if he even heard.”
“That’s an illegal blow,” Lewis said, per the Associated Press (via Sean Leahy of USA Today). “I don’t care how you want to look at it. . . .

It was one of the cheapest punk-a**ed away from the play hits I have ever witnessed. Oh, QB’s are protected by lame rules yet they can dish out crap like that? Don’t think so, he should be fined heavily.
Did not see the hit, however I was glad to see Brady lose another game. These guys who come out of college and hold out for mega bucks when they haven’t taken a pro snap I want to see them bust. Maybe pro teams need a new plan for draft picks.

Football is football and when you are paid big money to have an easy lifestyle and enjoy what you are doing, you have to perform. And in Brady’s shoes he new at the game. No doubt, its not college football. It is with the premadonnas as yourself Ray. Paid to complain. I’ve never seen soo many grown men paid big money to miss passes thrown in their hands and miss tackle when the guy runs right over you Ray. Quinn will learn soon enough.

That was a CHEAP A** SHOT!!! Every week defenders are fined for simply breathing on the QB and then Quinn gets away with this. Made himself look like a punk. I hope they fine the crap out of him.
Amazing how someone can defend a QB for those actions because if ANY other player would have laid a hand on a Quinn, it will be penaties and fines aaaaall day. Talk about unfair/bad calls? Its happened all season to the good defense teams that barely touch an opposing QB. I think that it was a cheap shot and that Quinn should sit out as long as Suggs is out. That would stop all the cheap stuff that goes on.

Any hit below the knees is “ILLEGAL” and other players are “HEAVILY FINED” for doing the damn same.The rules are the damn rules and “SHOULD” apply to EVERY NFL Player not just certain ones.Cheap shot or not,it was an ILLEGAL hit that cost one of the Leagues best players five weeks off.Other than this,This is NOT about Ray Lewis ,it’s about an illegal the knees hit.This rule was brought on by the UNINTENTIONAL hit on Carson palmer in the 2005 playoff game against the Steelers.I believe the player that fell on Carsons knee was named Kuatomulu.There is “NO” damn defense of wrongness and ONLY in America do we see such defense of that which “YOU KNOW” is wrong.The rules ARE the damn rules.
