A Low Blow Costly For Browns Quarterback Brady Quinn

Cleveland Browns quarterback, Brady Quinn, has been fined by the NFL for a low hit that injured another player. The game against the Baltimore Ravens was terrible from the beginning for the Browns, and the low blow the icing on the cake.

The Ravens are still angry over the block, and are surprised it came from a guy like Quinn. Ray Lewis, a fellow Ravens linebacker has called the move a cheap shot. He is angry they have lost one of their key players to a supposed accident.

After Quinn threw an interception, he proceeded to dive at Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs. He hit Suggs right at the knees, resulting in Suggs leaving the game for the night. Quinn was attempting to get to cornerback Chris Carr, when Suggs ran in front of the tackle.

Quinn claims he did not mean to hurt the other player, and is very sorry he is injured. At this point, Suggs may be out for the next three weeks. The play earned the Browns a 15 yard penalty. Quinn later received a letter from the NFL, indicating he had to pay a fine. He has not said how much the fine was, only that it is a significant amount.

What do you think of the hit?

Brady Quinn isn’t the kind of guy who would try to deliberately hurt another player…interesting that Ray Lewis has a comment about it…kinda ironic considering Lewis’s history.

    • Jan Freese says:

Yes he is that type of a guy – I watched him play at Notre Dame and that is all they care about – doing whatever it takes to win a game -

I’m not sure what type of guy he is or anyone is really just because I have no idea how these people are. Honestly though I thought it was poor judgment on Brady’s part I thought he had quarterbacks’ eyes? I could see how it could be an accident though but I just have a feeling of doubt that he’s that unaware in a football game to be doing that to someone. I say he threw his body to at least allow other players on his team to make a tackle. Not a bad idea for football no not at all, but seriously who thinks Brady could make an attempt to bust in an upright position? So at that point do we allow him to do that because that’s the only way he could’ve made a play on the ball? At the expense of someone’s career? I don’t know it’s definitely an odd situation cause if he didn’t do that he would’ve been plowed.

Football is played like its for girls! Your career is not a life time job. That’s why they get paid so much money, play hard, play to win. You may get lucky and be around a long time or that could be it. That why you can make Millions. Cry if you must, but lets play real football, not this game they call football TODAY!!!

  3. Joe Talamo says:

Give me a break Ray. Quinn acted on instint and through the block. He apoloagized for the result. d
Don’t come down on Quinn for the fact that your guys are golfing early this year and grow up.

the kind of guy he is

    • Jan Freese says:

what do you expect he went to Notre Dame and they play however it takes to win the game – always been dirty players always will be dirty players.

      • Abbie Fleming says:

I can think of 10 other schools that have REAL dirty reputations. ND is not dirty. I don’t think Brady’s action was intentional but maybe it was a result of his frustration with how he has been treated by that team. He has gotten screwed by the Browns and he needs to be given a chance on a real team. I hope he and his agent are successful at trading him soon.

        You couldn’t be more wrong.

  5. matt black says:

didn’t ray lewis kill someone? but he’s a good player though…..

    • TBAR... says:

No, he didn’t kill anyone. He lied about knowing anything about what happened. He did wrong but there’s a big difference between lying and murder.

  6. gene says:

maybe they should play touch football

  7. Shelley says:

It was probably an accident. And of course Ray is going to say it was a low blow. Fact is, Brady sucks… the Browns suck… and nobody cares.

  8. Barb says:

It wasn’t on purpose. What about the hit put on Josh Cribbs? I guess that guy was fined too.

  9. Required says:

Ray Lewis, the killer, makes comments about on field actions. Hmmmm…

  10. dewayne says:

    come on its football

  11. Anthony Platt says:

Yeah, it was a bad hit, no doubt, but I really think it was just him trying to blow up the play, even if it was in part, illegal. Trying to hit the ball carrier, I don’t believe that explanation so much. But trying to obstruct him, blow up the play, yeah I can buy that. I think that is what was going on. I certainly don’t think Quinn was trying to hurt anyone. Lewis is just understandably upset, but a “cheap shot”, ehh, not really. I don’t think there were any sinister intentions here. Although the connotations of this phrase can be many. Perhaps Lewis just meant it was an illegal play, and intended. I think we can give everyone the benefit of the doubt on this play.

  12. LanWarder says:

Ray is not killer as his court case showed, Quinn it two men low that day and deserved fines for both hits, only the suggs hit resulted in a time consuming injury. Quinn is a microcosm of the Browns, he is not talented, he is spiteful, and he is gonna be out of football soon.

  13. Shelly Eagle says:

Cheap shot brady, guess that’s what happens when you can win legally

Cheap shot brady, guess that’s what happens when you can’t win legally

  15. john says:

wait….what? football is a contact sport, they get payed how much money to risk their body in a CONTACT sport? so someone gets hurt and now their fining people? wow, football is getting full of so much bullshit, he got hurt in a contact sport, if he dosent want to ever get hurt, dont play fucking football

  16. Thomas Ennis says:

Ray Lewis is just like all the other candy ass players today. Over paid and a cry baby. We got guys overseas that will never make millions yet give everything they have everyday. So shut the hell up and PLAY. It’s a friggin GAME!!!

    • kirkg says:

Why is everybody on Ray Lewis’s dick? The fact is, it was an illegal hit. The kid got fined & that’s that. Why all the fuss? People calling Lewis a killer & a candy ass. None of you limp wristed pussies would step to him & talk that shit, so stop talking all that tough shit on a bullshit blog.

  17. Rock says:

RAY LEWIS made a comment about a cheap shot????……nuff said ’bout that. Brady’s hit was unintentional. Ravens are just upset that the only team they’re ahead of in their division is the lowly Browns.

Brady Quinn is one of most decent people in the NFL, if he says it was an accident I will take him at his word. You never saw anything like it from him before and you won’t in the future.
