Golf star Tiger Woods is recovering after a car accident near his home. Woods, 33, suffered only minor injuries, including a few cuts and lacerations to his face, after driving his car into a fire hydrant and a tree outside of his Orlando, Florida home around 2 a.m. on Friday, November 27.
Woods was treated at Health Central Hospital in Orlando then released to go home. Initial reports were exaggerated, and fans believed Woods – a high profile rock star in the golfing world – had suffered major injuries from the crash. Reports have stated that the airbags in Woods’ Cadillac did not deploy, which could indicate that he was traveling at a speed of less than 30 miles per hour when the accident occurred. Police officers have confirmed that Woods was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Woods is scheduled to begin pursuit of his fifth Chevron World Challenge golfing title next week.
