NCAA Football Star Carlos Dunlap Arrested For DUI

Florida Gators  massive defensive end Carlos Dunlap, a lock to play in the NFL, was charged with DUI last night in Gainesville, according to reports.

Gainesville police Officer Robert Rogers was the first on the scene.

According to Rogers, Dunlap was asleep at the wheel.  He watched for several minutes as the young athelte sat in his car while the traffic light cycled through several times.

“The front windows of the defendant’s (Dunlap’s) vehicle were cracked slightly and officers on the scene were unable to wake the defendant,” Rogers wrote in the arrest report. “Loud repetitive commands were given to the defendant who would only open his eyes momentarily and nod back off.”

Rogers said Dunlap had watery and bloodshot eyes, and there was a smell of alcohol. Dunlap failed a field sobriety test, refused a breath test and was booked.

“We are aware of the incident and are currently gathering more information,” coach Urban Meyer said in a statement released by the school.

Dunlap, the defensive MVP of last season’s Bowl Championship Series national title game, has started every game this season for the defending champs. He has 35 tackles and is tied for the team lead with seven sacks heading into Saturday’s SEC title game.

After the DUI arrest, his appearance in Saturday’s game is now in question.

A week out of the biggest game of the year, Can Floria win without Dunlop?
