The Arizona Cardinals’ defense knew it would have it’s hands full with Adrian Peterson but I’m not sure they knew just how fast he is.
According to reports, the Vikings’ star running back Adrian Peterson was cited for speeding last Saturday night in Minneapolis.
Peterson told The Associated Press he “got a little speeding ticket. I need to be more aware of the speed I was going and not let it happen again.”
“But I know it was a speeding ticket, and that’s what I got issued for,” Peterson said.
According to a police spokeswoman, Peterson was driving his BMW on a state highway in a 55-mph zone and was clocked at 109 mph.
Officer Molly Anderson declared that it was a “very routine,” stop.
The incident didn’t stop Peterson from gaining 85 yards the next day as the Vikes routed Chicago.
Peterson was selected by the Vikings with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma.
