The Super Bowl is the world’s most watched event every year as millions of people across the world, who do not normally watch American football, gather around their televisions to watch the sport’s two best teams compete each year. Because of this, the Super Bowl is the greatest advertising opportunity for companies and many companies each year spend millions of dollars for a 30 second commercial spot during the big game.
While most companies are free to advertise, this year, gay dating site ManCrunch.com was rejected the opportunity to advertise their company. According to CBS, who will be broadcasting the game, the ManCrunch ad did not comply with CBS’s Standards and Practices department. The gay dating site is a brand new site, but has already attracted over 60,000 members.
Avid Life Media, who owns the new gay dating site, has accepted the rejection by CBS, but still plans t advertise elsewhere. The new website already has media relationships with Fox and Sirius, but the company now plans to advertise internationally. They are presently targeting an advertisement plan in Canada, which tends to be more liberal. According to Avid Life Media, the website has plenty of money to fund a large advertising campaign.

This is a choice. Not EVERYONE’s choice. And should not have to be viewed by everyone just because they watch one of America’s most popular events (the superbowl) on t.v. It should remain behind closed doors I believe. I’m sure there are quite a few others that would agree with me. I mean there will be children watching the superbowl as well. They should be allowed to grow up and make decisions on there own – not from influence of this.
I am SSSOOO tired of you bigots out there calling our homosexuality a CHOICE!!! I DID NOT CHOOSE to be GAY! I have seen the ad and in fact is actually just funny! It is funny that it is OK to run the Tebow ad about abortion…now THAT is a choice…like religion…but THAT ad is being allowed. As far as kids…they will either get it or not…you will suddenly have to sit down and explain the ad with them!
Sorry, will NOT have to suddenly explain homosexuality at the Superbowl party!
Your not worried about the children watching all the beer comercials or the half naked cheerleaders who are there just because men want to exploit them, or all the other dating services ads. Your just worried about a gay add. The United Stated is built on the idea that all men are created equal, not the ones you like but ALL people.
Oh Rina, you are just ignorant, and there are quite a few others that would agree with me. Maybe you should get an education, history perhaps!!!!!!!!
if it is a choice than the people can choose whether to care about the ad or not just like every other ad in the super bpwl
ManCrunch.com must be nuts to be advertising during the super bowl. The Super Bowl is watched by traditional families too.. Don’t forget the fiasco with Jackson and Timberlake!
Good!! You shouldn’t put that garbage on TV period!! Gay shiit needs to stay away from any TV period! Fukken Homos
I see no problem with the advertisement being ran during the Super Bowl. In time they will be running ad’s for “NAMBLA” North American Man Boy Love Association as that is certainly where this country seems to be heading – thanks to the almighty dollar being pursued by telivision/advertising companies. Whatever ever happened to democracy? 95% of the people watching football don’t want to see this kind of advertising though I guess it is not politically correct to speak your mind in a country full of lawyers just waiting to stick the U.S Constituion up your butt should you disagree with what anyone with money wants to do/say. Aren’t the Viagra commericals and medical drugs for depression already enough?. They got us all thinking we are depressed and need to be medicated to make love. I wish the majority of people in this country would speak up more often on matters such as these before they are replaced by the minorities of this country – Which will/is happening. Oh and remember the saying – “The squeaky wheel gets the oil” It’s true! Best of Luck America……
What if i dont wanna see black people, or women on TV? should i complain? Ofcourse not, if you dont like the ad ignore it, wait for the next one. Besides, an anti-abortion ad was aired despite the fact that i am pro-abortion. Was i angry and did i cry? No, i IGNORED it!! get over it, gay sites have just as much right to advertise as anyone else!
To Ken and Rina,
You too are the biggest ingnorant, bigotted people , not many brain cells left.
If your afraid that a gay dating website ad will influence children, and you feel that they should make the decision on their own, then aren’t the commercials for match.com, and eharmony doing the same thing? I don’t understand the whole, I am fine with the gays, I just don’t want it thrown in my face mentality. Isn’t it the same for the gays when they watch a sexy perfume/jeans/clothing ad that envolves a man and a woman?
I think it is good that they not show it. There is enough gay stuff on TV as it is. Leave the Super Bowl alone.
Careful, your homophobia is showing! Besides, the fact that Superbowl didn’t show it hasn’t deterred Mancrunch, look at how much free publicity they’re getting! Wow, those gay people are clever!
….POOFTERS….
To all of the international poofters dismay, they lost the chance to experience the real shot of love…oops, I mean’t “at” love.
Fags.
Burn em’.
To Phil, bigots, burn them!
Who the hell cares. You people take crap way to personally and yall just need to get over yourselves. Just because you’re gay doesn’t mean you get special rights either. It’s a commercial not that big of a damn deal.
you gays should keep your discusting abnormal behavior to yourselves.there is more normal people in the world and they should not have to be asaulted with such filth.
