Baseball bad boy Alex Rodriguez’s attorneys are arranging a meeting between the baseball star and federal agents. Rodriguez has agreed to talk with investigators about Canadian doctor Anthony Galea.
Galea’s assistant was stopped at the US border and busted for possessing human growth hormone. HGH has been used in the past to boost professional athlete’s performance, but it is illegal. Dr. Galea is being investigated for allegedly distributing the drug. He is denying the allegations.
Galea admitted to treating Rodriguez last year after his hip surgery. The Yankees and Rodriguez’s doctor did not authorize any treatment by Galea and claim to be unaware Rodriguez was ever treated by the Canadian. Galea claims he only gave the baseball star an anti-inflammatory. Rodriguez is neither confirming nor denying the doctor’s claims.
Several other professional baseball players have been connected to the doctor and are being interviewed by investigators as well. Rodriguez does not know the exact date or place of the meeting but is hoping it will be held in Florida. Spring training has begun and he does not want the impending meeting to interfere with his baseball schedule.
In the meantime, A-Rod is business as usual and says he is not worried about the interview.
