NCAA Announces Brackets


On Sunday, the NCAA tournament selection committee announced the bracket and seeding for the 2010 tournament. This year’s bracket seems to be one of the most competitive of all time, as it seems more teams than ever have a chance of winning the “Big Dance.”

Presently, the number one overall seed and favorite to win the tournament is the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks, who one the tournament just two years ago, are led by two seasoned veteran players including Sherron Collins and Cole Aldridge.

Another favorite to win this year’s tournament is Kentucky. The Kentucky Wildcats, who are fresh off of their SEC tournament championship, are led by two of the nation’s best freshman. John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, who lead the Wildcats, are widely expected to leave Kentucky after this year to enter the NCAA draft.

Like most years, this years NCAA tournament is expected to lead to a lot of illegal gambling as basketball fans across the country will fill out their NCAA brackets. As the tournament is played during the week and during the day, the tournament normally distracts millions of fans across the country. In past years, it has been estimated that the tournament costs businesses billions of dollars in lost business.
