The 36 year-old Drew Barrymore has landed a new project with ABC. Barrymore who played in the popular movie “Charlie’s Angels” which was a reboot from the original 1970s TV series has struck a deal with ABC to do a network series.

The script for the new show was written by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough and they will be producing the project with Drew Barrymore, Nancy Juvonen and Leonard Goldberg for Sony Pictures Television and Flower Films.

ABC is making room for the reboot of Charlie’s Angels and are betting that casting Annie Ilonzeh from General Hospital, Rachael Taylor star from Grey’s Anatomy and Minka Kelly from Friday Night Lights as the new angels will bring ratings with them when the show begins to air.

Having Robert Wagner on the show is no doubt a wise decision and he should give the show that real “Charlie” feel to it.

Charlie Sheen to be on 20/20
Hollywood is waiting with baited breath for Charlie Sheens interview Tuesday on ABC’s 20/20 program. It will be his first television interview since CBS pulled the plugged on production of “Two And A Half Men.”

Charlie Sheen has had his bouts with excessive alcohol and cocaine use and, with the exception of his family, Charlie has blasted everyone who has tried to help him. The final straw for CBS was when he went on a rant that included the shows creator Chuck Lorre.

Based on his past behavior and poor choice of words, people are now saying, tongue in cheek, that Charlie Sheen is the sole reason that the 5 second delay button was invented.

NEW YORK – Alicia Guastafarro, who appeared on the ABC television show Wife Swap two years ago, is now suing the network for $100M. Guastafarro appeared on the show with her family when she was just 15 years old. She claims that the show portrayed her as a spoiled brat that put extreme emphasis on appearance. On the episode, the teen showed off her unusually large and expensive wardrobe, and the high dollar amount that the family spent in a year on her pageantry participation was mentioned. While preparing for one such pageant during the filming of the show, Guastafarro stated that “appearances are everything” and that she desired world peace.

The now 18 year old woman claims that her lines in the show were scripted, and that she suffered as a direct result of her appearance on the show.

Since appearing on the show, Alicia claims to have suffered from nervous and anxiety disorders including post traumatic stress disorder, and claims to have suffered extreme ridicule from her student peers. The lawsuit claims that Guastafarro was the victim of physical assaults and was eventually forced to leave her high school to complete her education in an alternative educational setting.

Christiane Amanpour, the veteran foreign correspondent of CNN (Cable News Network) is leaving her network. She will be moving to ABC to take over for George Stephanopoulos for ABC’s show “This Week.” This correspondent was brought up in England and Iran, and because of this fact speaks Farsi (the official language of Iran) and has used this to her benefit. She has been at CNN for 18 years and has produced some excellent specials, including interviews and in-depth reporting.

Christiane Amanpour will join ABC in August to begin her work. She will bring the international and domestic aspect of the news together through roundtable discussions and interviews. She will bring her experience from reporting around the world from such hot spots as Pakistan, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Somalia and the Balkans, to name only some of the places from which she has shown her expertise in delivering the news.

It might be a good idea to approach the news from a different angle and she believes she can use her experience to move into a different format. To be sure, she will probably still be used for international reporting, if a situation arises where her extensive skills are required. ABC has added an experienced reporter, which could boost their ratings.

Kate Snow, news correspondent for ABC’s weekend edition of Good Morning America, will be leaving her post. She has taken a job with NBC as a correspondent for their popular Dateline news program. She made the decision to depart ABC after she wasn’t offered the position Diane Sawyer left on the weekday edition of Good Morning America. ABC chose JuJu Change to fill Diane Sawyer’s shoes instead of Kate.

Kate has been a familiar face on the news for quite a while now. She got her big break on CNN, where she covered the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections. She was also one of ABC’s reporters on the scene after the devastating Haiti earthquake earlier in the year.

After leaving CNN, Kate Snow had high hopes of moving up the ladder on ABC. However, it looks as though her career will get off to a good start on NBC instead. Kate is expected to begin her job at NBC later in the spring. NBC says they are very excited that Snow has accepted the position, and that they feel hiring Snow is a big step toward investing in the future of their company and expanding their prime time news network.

The entertainment world is all abuzz about the upcoming episodes of Cougar Town because singer/activist Cheryl Crow will have a recurring part. She will play Grayson’s new girlfriend and will be cast as a wine distributor.

Grayson, played by Josh Hopkins, is the recently divorced next door neighbor of Jules Cobb, played by Courteney Cox. The fact that Courteney Cox and Cheryl Crow are good friends has not escaped the notice of Hollywood insiders. It seems the show’s creator, Bill Lawrence makes a practice of giving roles to friends of his show’s actors.

ABC has not said how many episodes Ms. Crow will appear in, but chose the word several. It is also true she will not be playing herself, but a character. One can’t help but wonder if somehow during one of the episodes Grayson finds out that his new girl friend can sing.

Cougar Town is back for its second season with ABC and airs on Wednesday nights. In addition to Courteney Cox and Josh Hopkins, the show also stars Christa Miller, Busy Philipps, Brian Van Holt, Dan Byrd, and Ian Gomez.

In addition to Crow, Cox’s long time friend Lisa Kudrow also guest-starred on the opening episode last year.

Amidst the late night talk show debacle on NBC, Kimmel dressed up as Jay Leno for his entire show last night, as guests Chevy Chase and Elisha Cuthbert played along.

“Hello, hello, my name is Jay Leno and let it here by be known that I’m taking over all the shows in late-night,” he quipped, referring to the recent dustup at NBC.

“It’s great to be here on ABC,” he adds. “You know what ABC stands for? Always Bump Conan.”

“Conan O’Brien, today, announced that he is leaving NBC. He released a statement today saying ‘I won’t participate in the destruction of ‘The Tonight Show.’” Fortunately, though, I will,” Kimmell says as Leno.

Chase, even came out wearing an O’Brien wig.

What do you think of Kimmel’s Leno Show: best commentary yet, or did he take it too far?

On February 2nd, ABC’s hit show ‘Lost’ will make its debut. This long awaited season premiere has had fans anxiously waiting since last season’s finale. Viewers are quite curious as how ‘Lost’ will conclude, since this will be final season of the show, which has aired since 2004.

Some say this three-hour premiere is the most anticipated show to watch of the entire television season. Many fans were quite concerned as well as the executives at ABC that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, would be making his annual State of the Union Address when ‘Lost’ would makes this season’s premiere. All can rest assure that the President will not be making his previously scheduled speech, therefore not coinciding with the debut of ‘Lost’.

Many fans of the popular show hope to have many of their questions answered, since ‘Lost’ is quite infamous in creating more questions than giving out answers.

Producers of the show have recently released two photos of the remaining cast members replicating a recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Last Supper.” Since the release of these photos, fans have already begun speculating and searching for further clues on what this season may hold for viewers and how the show will end.

Could ABC News really be in the act of providing a new gig for Ted Koppel? Luring this well- known, former primetime anchor back onto the ABC news set would definitely be considered a coup. Koppel had been associated with ABC for 42 years and is one of the industry’s most respected veteran broadcasters. While top executives are still going on record by saying that no actual offers have yet been made there are a number of details already being leaked to the media.

According to the President of ABC News, David Westin, the network is in the midst of negotiating a “come-back” deal with Koppel. Specific details are still being kept close to the vest but it is no secret that ABC is eager to have Koppel back in the fold and on the airwaves. Sources are reporting that the new gig for Ted Koppel would have him appearing as a rotating news anchor. His presence would be a definite boost to the ratings for ABC as they battle the other stations for the lion’s share of the viewing market.

At the present time the anchorman is still deeply involved in the news industry with both the National Public Radio station and Discovery Channel. Whatever the new gig for Ted Koppel may be it will have to be negotiated around his schedule and demands because in this instance the ball is definitely in his court.

U.S. President Barack Obama has scheduled another address tonight but this time, instead of juggling their schedules, the four major networks are working around the speech.

Unlike for past prime-time addresses, the networks are all airing the Dec. 1 speech, which will discuss his plan for Afghanistan.

ABC have decided they will air the entire hour, while CBS and Fox have only planned for a half hour of live coverage.

ABC has bumped its two holiday specials, A Charlie Brown Christmas and Disney Prep & Landing, to Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, CBS will air repeats of NCIS and Two and a Half Men. And settle down, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air as scheduled at 10.

Fox will air a special 90-minute episode of So You Think You Can Dance, but viewers in Pacific and Mountain time zones will get the full two hours.

The President will be bumping “The Biggest Loser” on NBC to a start time that’s one hour later than usual. Since it’s a two-hour edition, it’s pushing “The Jay Leno Show” right off the schedule for tonight. As for “The Biggest Loser,” the final four contestants have to run a marathon: all 26.2 miles of it.

Coverage is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
