While he was giving a speech, President Obama gave a strong rendition of Let’s Stay Together, a song popularized by performer Al Green.

Since Obama did impress fans with his singing, he is now being recruited by American Idol.

American Idol’s executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, was quite impressed with his singing and he sent President
Obama an open ended invitation to perform live on the show.

Lythgoe has suggested that Obama teams up with Al Green to perform a duet of the same song that the President sang at the Apollo Theater.

Having President Obama would likely generate a significant amount of ratings for the show, which has struggled for the past two seasons following the loss of Simon Cowell.

Though her voice wasn’t the best the judges have heard so far, it still sounded sweet enough to get her a coveted Golden Ticket.

Jane recounted how having a famous comedian for a father has made her a “huge ham” herself. Before her idol audition she lists her occupation as a mother and waitress.

Jane may be able to put her waitressing job behind her since she will be going to Hollywood on her own talent instead of dad’s.

Brumfield, 24, was first arrested in 2005 for trespassing on private property. She was arrested in 2007 for unlawful detainer, or remaining on property after the lease has expired, and again in 2007 for underage drinking.

Brumfield was arrested twice in August 2010 on alcohol related issues. In one incident she was so intoxicated she peed on herself in a Baskin Robbins.

The singer garnered sympathy from the judges and viewers when she confessed to being unable to afford a $100.00 a week hotel room and had to live in a tent in the woods. Viewers were impressed with her positive attitude in spite of her homelessness.

She was given a golden ticket after wowing the judges with her strong singing voice.

American Idol Contestant Amy Brumfield Has Criminal Past

There were several heart-warming stories including one of a Tennessee contestant who lives in a tent due to economic difficulties.

The show provided the occasional goofy pun towards oddball contestants such as was the case with a Ryan Seacrest lookalike, but the show overall displayed some promising talent for 2012.

The last contestant of the show was a man named Phillip Phillips who impressed the judges with his unique guitar playing skills and powerful vocals.

Steven Tyler was the center of attention more than once as his quirky comments provided both humor and the occasional awkward moment for a contestant.

There were over 40 contestants from the Savannah, Georgia auditions who received golden tickets to the next round in Hollywood.

American Idol 2012 Auditions Have Started

Canadian singer Michael Buble recently admitted that he had wanted to tell off music mogul Simon Cowell during a 2007 performance.

Buble was giving a performance on ‘American Idol’ in 2007 when he noticed that Cowell had rolled his eyes. Buble told Radio Times that his confidence dropped through the floor when he noticed the gesture. The singer was on stage performing for the in-studio audience as well as an estimated 20M home viewers.

“The first thing I saw was Simon,” Buble explained. “I was about four lines in when he did this.”

Buble rolled his eyes to demonstrate Cowell’s actions during the performance. The star then admitted that when he’s nervous and loses confidence that he simply develops an attitude toward the situation where he wants to tell people, “You don’t like me? Go f**ck yourself.”

Jennifer Lopez has accepted the job for a second season judging this talent competition. Recently, Lopez has encountered her first ‘fight’ with the other judges on the panel (Randy Jackson, and Steven Tyler).

The lack of agreement on a certain contestant may have rattled Lopez quite a bit. Jennifer Lopez told the radio station ‘KISS FM’; “Me and Randy and Steve got into our first fight. I got really really upset.”. Although the disagreement brought down Jennifer’s mood, she continues to excel as a judge on the American Idol talent competition.

Fans will be able to experience the argument most likely on air time.

Jennifer Lopez To Return To American Idol

Idol kicked off it’s eleventh season auditions in St. Louis on June 28 and will continue for several months. Scheduled stops include Denver and Pittsburgh. This leaves only Jennifer Lopez to accept and return as a judge next season, or to leave the producers to find a new talent judge.

JLo announced earlier this month that she was very “on the fence” about whether or not to return to the show, as she was uncertain of her current scheduling. The former Fly Girl and ‘Selena’ star seemed to get very emotional when it came to several performances during her stint on ‘Idol’s’ tenth season.

Could it really be objectivity that is getting in her way or is it really a possible scheduling conflict? Is it genuine disinterest in returning to the series?

It’s anyone’s guess.

Randy Jackson & Steve Tyler To Return To American Idol

The winner of “American Idol” was announced Wednesday night live at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Two country singers were in the top two; Scotty McCreery, 17, from North Carolina and Lauren Alaina, 16, from Georgia but in the end the title went to Scotty McCreery whose musical influences include Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Elvis.

The two hour finale was filled with performances from the top 24 contestant, guest mentors and other entertainers. The top twelve ladies took on a Beyonce medley featuring “Irreplaceable, “Single Ladies” and Beyonce joined them for “Crazy in Love”.

The popstar also returned later to sing her new single called “One Plus One”.

James Durbin sang a duet with Judas Priest, Casey Abrams hit the stage for a rendition of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” with Jack Black, Jacob Lusk performed with gospel legend Kirk Franklin, Hailey Reinhart and Tony Bennett sang a duet of “Steppin’ Out With My Baby”, Lauren Alaina sang “Before He Cheats” with “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery and Tim McGraw paired up for “Live Like You Were Dying”.

Other performances came from U2’s Bono and The Edge, Lady Gaga, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez’s husband Marc Anthony who had Lopez by his side.

To close out the show Scotty sang his original song “I Love You This Big” while he went and hugged his family and his fellow contestants. It was another record breaking night on “American Idol” which had 122 million votes cast for the two finalists.

The Top 3 hometown visits were shown where the three top contestants were greeted by thousands of fans in their home towns. Italian group (Il Volo) took the stage first singing their hit song “O Sole Mio.” During the last fifteen minutes of the show, Seacrest gathers the last three contestants to announce who would be leaving the show tonight.

Scotty’s name was called first, and it was announced that he would be in the final competition, along with Lauren. Haley looked totally shocked that she was the one leaving the show; she had really thought she would be in the top two. She ended the show singing “Bennie and the Jets.”

Even with a strong showing from all of the final three it is anyone’s guess who will come out on top tonight. Based on the voting habits of the American viewers it is safe to say that the younger teenage population is calling most of the shots.

With Scotty McMcreery it seems that the young females are swooning all over him and are committed to seeing him at the top while Lauren Alaina has the undisputed attention of all the young quick fingered guys who watch the show. One thing is certain, there is no shortage of talent with these three.
