The Biggest Loser started this week with the goal that there would be no excuses for losing weight. There were ten teams competing, but only nine teams would be allowed through the gates to the ranch.

There was a competition to decide which team went home. The starting challenge showed the contestants that if they wanted to stay at the ranch, then they would have to start fighting from day one; there would be no excuses.

The team that was sent home was offered another challenge if they wanted to return in one month they would have to lose 50 pounds as a team. Will they be back to challenge the other team members?

We will just have to keep watching to see. As for the other contestants, they went on to endure their first workouts with the trainers. The, the family members were separated from each other for teams.

This week’s “Biggest Loser” weighed in with lots of drama. The red, blue and green teams came away with three competitors each while Hannah and Rulon rounded out their black team by selecting eliminated contestant Jay.

A big surprise came when green team contestant Kaylee decided that both her weight and ambition had hit a plateau and she wanted off the show. Telling host Allison Sweeney that “for once in my life I don’t care what anyone else thinks,” Kaylee added that “It’s not about weight loss anymore. It’s about me fixing what’s inside.”

Although teammates attempted to throw the weigh-in so Kaylee could leave, plans backfired with Ken’s impressive seven-pound loss. While Ken was distraught that his weigh-in meant that Kaylee wouldn’t get the boot, Sweeney sternly reminded contestants that “(The show) is not a prison. If you want to leave at any time, you’re welcome to do that.”

After that change, a tempting challenge was unveiled. While the players were trapped in a room full of chocolates, the challenge was issued that the person eating the most candy would be rewarded by being allowed to trade two of his or her players for two from the other team. Arthur won by eating 35 pieces of candy.

He sent teammates Jen and Jay over to the red team in exchange for Denise and Sarah, who he considers to be weaker than him. He was obviously hoping to secure his future on the show with this move.

Arthur explained his decision to change teams to his father, saying it was so the two could survive for the duration of the reality competition.

Challenges included teams joined together by a rope with the winner being whichever team can get free first and teams pushing a 24 ton train along an 800 foot track.

During the final weigh-in, Ken was safe from elimination since he lost the most weight. In the end Jay volunteered to be sent home to save his daughter Jennifer from elimination, which the team agrees to do.

Jay now weighs 289 pounds, following a total weight loss of 111 pounds.

House, 28, started the show at 400 pounds. The 6’2” man lost a total of 181 pounds during the duration of the show, which was really about six months before editing it down.

House, a father of two from Mississippi, burst into tears upon being proclaimed the winner.

Viewers of “The Biggest Loser” finale on Tuesday night were treated to glimpses of contestants competing on season 11, and many were surprised to see former Olympic wrestler Rulon Gardner among the cast members.

In 2000, Gardner beat undefeated Russian wrestler Alexander Karelin in one of the most amazing upsets in Olympic history and has since let his life and his weight get out of control.

Gardner reportedly weighed in on the Biggest Loser Ranch at 474 pounds, and has said that he endured many trials over the past 10 years that wore him down and contributed to the gains.

Gardner has said he survived a plane crash, a car accident and a snowmobile accident over the past decade, and was in complete denial about his weight before finally deciding to try out for the upcoming season of “The Biggest Loser”

Patrick House, a 28-year-old unemployed husband and father, blew away the competition in the final three to win the title of the Biggest Loser on the show’s 10th season finale Tuesday night. At the beginning of the season House came to the show after losing his job and ballooning to more than 400 pounds, and was afraid his morbid obesity would kill him.

By the finale Tuesday, he had lost 181 pounds and claimed the title and $250,000 prize over fellow finalists Frado Dinten and Ada Wong. Dinten lost 162 pounds to come in second and Wong lost 99 pounds.

The at-home prize seemed to be in the hands of Adam Hurtado, who lost 185 pounds. He was topped by Rick DeRogue with 220 pounds for more than 45 percent of his weight lost.

In the end, the at-home winner was Mark Pinhasovich, who dropped from 421 pounds to 213 pounds for a more than 50 percent weight loss.
The goal of the clothing line is to spread breast cancer awareness and to raise funding for breast cancer research and support organizations.

Pink is the color to represent courage, hope, love, and commitment. Although pink is typically the color associated with breast cancer awareness, ‘Warriors in Pink’ offers a variety of apparel and items that are geared for both men and women, in a variety of designs and colors.

The ‘Warriors in Pink’ initiative is 100% non-profit, having raised $1.4M this year, with all proceeds going to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Biggest Loser Contestant Complains About Intense Pressure

Kai Hibbard, a contestant on the “Biggest Loser” show during season 3, has slammed the show saying it is a scam. Hibbard insists the show gave her an eating disorder. She said this happened because there was so much pressure during the show and after it was completed. She said the pressure was too much to handle.

Hibbard, who started the show weighing 262 pounds, is now down to 144 pounds. She complained that her situation grew worse once she returned from the show to her home. She said the producers constantly sent her e-mails. They wanted to know, “What have you done today? Are you working out enough?” Hibbard said that this just added more pressure. She said that she was trying to do the right thing and that the show told her it was the best thing that had ever happened to her. Then she said she would receive an e-mail saying something like, “200,000 other fat girls were in the line right behind you. How dare you waste this experience. How dare you let anybody down?”

This all led Hibbard to decide she would only consume 1,000 calories per day. She then started working out between five and eight hours per day. The pressure continued to make it difficult for Hibbard. She said the pressure to exercise and stay thin led to her hair starting to fall out. On top of the hair loss her body was covered with bruises and she was only able to sleep three hours a night.

Hibbard complained that she tried to tell the show about the pressure and her struggles. She said they were not interested in hearing about her troubles unless she was willing to go on TV. She said they told her, “Save it for the cameras.”

So, a number of years later, it is questionable as to why she is just now reporting these issues.

Biggest loser contestant Rebecca Meyer may have lost 73 pounds on the Biggest Loser ranch, but she gained a new man in her life.

Rebecca says her and fellow contestant Daniel Wright are now dating.

“We didn’t really like each other all that well in the beginning, and went from not liking each other to becoming friends to becoming best friends. After we both left the show, we wanted to spend hours on the phone talking to each other. I fell in love with my best friend,” Rebecca told reporters the day after her elimination aired.

Although the two live in separate states, the two try and see eathother as much as possible.

“They initially planned to see each other one week every month, but it has increased to two weeks,” an insider reveals.

Daniel Wright, 20, is a student from Willow Spring, N.C., and Rebecca Meyer, 25, is a student from Des Moines Iowa.

This isn’t the first romance to spring from the ranch. Season 2 winner Matt Hoover and second runner-up Suzy Preston started dating on the show and got engaged during an interview on the ‘Today’ show in early 2006

The Biggest Loser airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Citytv/NBC.
