Ex-Tonight Show host, Conan O’Brien, will be touring the United States starting April 12 doing what many say he does best: stand up comedy. The tour will begin in Eugene, OR and wrap up in Atlanta, GA in June. He will also be making a stop at the famous Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN on June 10-13.

This tour comes on the heels of a nasty battle between Jay Leno and Conan, which resulted in Conan leaving his post at The Tonight Show. NBC allowed Conan to fill the seat Leno left behind, and gave Leno a variety show that aired weeknights at 10 PM, in an effort to save money and boost ratings for the rapidly plummeting network. Jay and Conan were making headlines for continuing to take nasty potshots at each other, which left a bad taste in the mouths of most viewers. David Letterman, who is still doing his show on CBS, couldn’t resist joining in the fun. He took his own share of potshots at Jay Leno, as well.

Ticket sales for Conan O’Brien’s upcoming tour are expected to go on sale this month. The tour will cover 30 US cities, including a few stops in Canada. The tour will focus mostly on stand-up comedy, but Conan said fans would also get to enjoy some music.

Conan O’Brien may have disappeared from the airwaves, but he has popped up in the world of Twitter.

It seems O’Brien had something up his sleeve when he decided to randomly follow one of his followers on the popular networking tool, Twitter. Who was the lucky ‘tweeter’? Her name is Sarah Killen and she is a 19-year-old bride to be. Killen was alerted by O’Brien last Friday that her life was about to change.

He was not kidding. She started receiving phone calls within hours from news stations, websites and radio stations. She also started receiving followers at the rate of 150 per minute; at last count, she had over 20,000. She says that she cannot leave the house without being spotted, but on a brighter note she has been receiving gifts too. She has received wine for the reception of her upcoming nuptials, a designer wedding gown, money, and many more items from her new following.

Killen is not just on the taking end of this new found fame, she has decided to help the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Though her fiancé is happy with the outcome of the following, he said there is just one more thing that would make his big day complete; he wants O’Brien to serve as his best man.

It is in the works for Conan O’Brien to hit the comedy tour circuit soon. Plans are being made to set up tours across the country, skirting around contract stipulations that O’Brien cannot appear on television until September this year. This means there must not be any air time of this proposed tour. Fan response has been great, with true CoCo lovers ready to go to great lengths to get to his shows. Speculation is that the tour would start in the US and possibly on to Europe. Is Conan going on tour? It is a definitely maybe at this point.

O’Brien’s fan base has been largely in the under 50 age set. It is expected that the largest portion of the proposed tour will be in the college sector. His humor is considered off the wall and this appeals to the younger set. Gaining popularity by hitting the road could set up a larger fan base, sealing the deal for O’Brien to increase ratings for future television. No other venue will be accessible to O’Brien but there is a trick to all this. There must not be any televised portion of his tour. Security will have to be stepped up to prevent bootlegging of his performances. Is Conan going on tour? It looks promising.

The future is starting to take shape at NBC. Jay Leno will return to his coveted 11:35 p.m. timeslot, Conan O’Brien will walk away with pockets overflowing with cash, and NBC executives will search for a sacrificial scapegoat.

NBC worked out a contract in 2004 that guaranteed Conan O’Brien would be the host of the Tonight Show in 2009. He waited for five years only to have the rug rudely pulled out from under him after seven months.

O’Brien’s ratings are currently shooting through the roof. This morning, his fans congregated in front of WMAQ-TV’s studio in order to protest NBC’s treatment of the Tonight Show host. While a majority of the blame is aimed at Leno, he does not have the power to shuffle programming. NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker is the man that brought Jay Leno back to NBC after Leno left the Tonight Show. Zucker is also responsible for forcing O’Brien to accept either a later time slot or leave.

This situation has gotten out of hand. The scandal is generating a lot of publicity, but once the dust settles, Leno will have to contend with an audience that feels he stabbed Conan O’Brien in the back.

Jeff Zucker, an NBC executive is now threatening comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer Conan O’Brien with legal action in order to keep Conan off the air if he does not agree to let NBC switch back to its previous late night schedule where Conan would be following Jay Leno again as Jay once again takes over the prime time slot with the Tonight Show.

This is amid rumors that Conan is considering a huge contract offer from FOX executives in order to develop a late night television talk show for them.

Zucker would certainly put the breaks on such an agreement with FOX and likely never allow Conan to appear on the air for that company.

Conan has been making jokes on his show about only hosting the show for seven months until he is now being asked to leave by people like Jeff Zucker.

O’Brien fans have now formed a team on the internet called Team Coco which is a reference to one of the jokes on O’Brien’s show as a way to show support for NBC keeping Conan as host of the Tonight Show as Conan would prefer.

Jay Leno is making more money than Conan in that time slot so it is more likely Leno will win out according to media reports.

Meanwhile, according to The New York Times, NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol has defended Jay Leno calling O’Brien and Letterman “chicken-hearted and gutless to blame a guy you couldn’t beat in the ratings.”

“They’re just striking out at Jay,” he added. “It seems like professional jealousy.”

Ebersol suggested O’Brien is to blame for the late night mess.

“What this is really all about is an astounding failure by Conan,” Ebersol added, referring to “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien’s” ratings, which have fallen since O’Brien took over the reigns.

NBC’s new primetime lineup apparently wasn’t working as well as the network originally thought it would. Jeff Zucker has been receiving less than positive remarks from his critics about how he killed comedy beginning with Thursday night’s “Must See TV” block. Shows such as “Seinfeld” and “Friends” are no longer being produced anymore and the current state of the television sitcom has been anything but favorable. He’s also being blamed for not being able to create any dramas to replace ended series such as “E.R.” or “West Wing”, and now the current state of programming with “The Jay Leno Show” appearing at the 10:00 hour when people are used to a drama being there and Jay’s “Tonight Show” successor, Conan O’Brien, who has unsuccessfully appealed to his audience.

One of the main reasons Conan’s ratings have been higher last week is because of the jabs he has taken against NBC and Leno. “Saturday Night Live” even had its fun with the Leno and O’Brien debacle on their January 16th broadcast.

It’s currently being speculated that O’Brien is out as he has already stated he will not be doing a later “Tonight Show” at 12:05 after Jay Leno’s short half-hour show. It will be interesting to see what happens with this feud between now and February 15th, when the Winter Olympics start airing.

The battle between talk show hosts Jay Leno and Conan O’Brian continue as NBC network executives announce the termination of The Jay Leno Show, and moving The Tonight Show to a new time slot. Negotiations are currently underway between the two hosts and the network. The latest in the passing of the torch debacle stems around the decision to put Jay Leno back on at 11:35pm and moving The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brian to a later, 12:05am time slot.

According to NBC, airing The Jay Leno show at 10:00pm has caused much grief for affiliate stations who were so unhappy with the show in this time slot that they were ready to boycott the network. It appears that the less than stellar ratings brought on by the new show were also affecting the ratings of affiliate news casts and some believe, The Tonight Show as well. Until recently, NBC has always aired a drama series in the 10:00pm time slot but in an attempt to save money, the network decided to instead try a less costly talk show, hosted by Leno.

Conan O’Brien is understandably unhappy with the networks decision to “move The Tonight Show to tomorrow” and has stated that he will not take any part in the destruction of the network. It appears that the network decision has backfired and is the hottest topic among night show talk hosts such as Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman, and Craig Ferguson who are all jumping the O’Brien bandwagon.

Amidst the late night talk show debacle on NBC, Kimmel dressed up as Jay Leno for his entire show last night, as guests Chevy Chase and Elisha Cuthbert played along.

“Hello, hello, my name is Jay Leno and let it here by be known that I’m taking over all the shows in late-night,” he quipped, referring to the recent dustup at NBC.

“It’s great to be here on ABC,” he adds. “You know what ABC stands for? Always Bump Conan.”

“Conan O’Brien, today, announced that he is leaving NBC. He released a statement today saying ‘I won’t participate in the destruction of ‘The Tonight Show.’” Fortunately, though, I will,” Kimmell says as Leno.

Chase, even came out wearing an O’Brien wig.

What do you think of Kimmel’s Leno Show: best commentary yet, or did he take it too far?

Conan O’Brien has a big decision to make that could affect millions of loyal fans. NBC has decided to put Jay Leno back into the 10pm time slot and boot Conan’s show to midnight. NBC is getting a lot of flack from viewers and supporters in favor of leaving Conan in the current time slot. Conan moved his entire family and staff 3000 miles to accommodate the new time slot just a few short months ago.

Sources from Conan’s camp say he is debating quitting the network all together or tucking his tail between his legs and moving back the late, late time slot. Rumors are swirling that the Fox network may be more than happy to hire Conan to host a show that would go up against Leno’s NBC show.

The schedule change comes after NBC nixed Leno’s primetime show because of low ratings and in order to please the star they are giving him the coveted slot. There have been some suggestions that Leno threatened to move to Fox if the network did not give into his demands. Jimmy Fallon’s show will also be moved if the schedule lineup goes through.

With the continued deterioration of the ‘Tonight Show’ starring Conan O’Brien, a recent entertainment rumor has hit the internet and some new wires regarding the potential replacement of O’Brien by Jerry Seinfeld. There is good reason to believe that this would be a positive move for NBC. Given the ratings issues of Jay Leno, the current status of the ‘Tonight Show’ needs its own injection of ratings success. The show has lost 52% of its viewers in the year since O’Brien took over the show.

Representatives for Conan O’Brien, Jerry Seinfeld as well as NBC are all denying that any talks have taken place between the two. NBC has denied the story, stating that Conan was their host for “Tonight Show’ and there were no plans to change this at this time. However, sources on both sides of the story claim that there have indeed been talks between them and that Seinfeld would be the show’s new host before the end of 2010.

Although there are no confirmations or firm commitments to this potential move, from a viewership and NBC perspective the belief is that Seinfeld would pull in more viewership as well as more sponsors if he were to take over as host of the show.
