TBS has stated that they are well intent in pushing Conan O’Brien for an Emmy push and nod. While the show does not even start airing on the station until later on in the year, Ted Turner’s company is going out of their way and making sure that new Conan O’Brien Show gets some kind of Emmy buzz.

The new show does not even begin until November 8th but his week TBS network officials have started a campaign and have pulled out several ads in Entertainment Weekly and the LA Times, mentioning O’Brien’s short run as the host of NBC’s Tonight Show.

The ad is a picture of O’Brien with his trademark coiffed hair with the words ‘Give this man with one more thing to tweet about’ pasted beside his image. The intention is that TBS hopes that O’Brien will get an Emmy nomination for his short stint on the NBC program.

NBC has not made any comment about the TBS manuver only to show that they are promoting their own hosts who are currently on their own payroll. Word is that TBS plans to use the ads right on up to July 8th when the new Emmy nominations are announced.

It was assumed for all of the years that Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno were on the same network at NBC that they generally always got along.

The question in Conan O’Brien’s mind as he speculated on 60 Minutes is whether or not the respect that he had for Jay Leno was something of a mutual feeling.

O’Brien felt that Jay Leno would likely stick up for him with the NBC brass when they decided to give the Tonight Show back to Leno. Leno did not stick up for Conan and this made Conan wonder whether Jay Leno truly was his friend.

He felt like he had been stabbed in the back somewhat.

Conan O’Brien was somewhat surprised that Jay Leno automatically agreed with the decision of NBC executive Jeff Zucker to move Jay Leno back to the Tonight Show time slot.

O’Brien had heard complaints from fellow comedians and performers about what kind of person Leno was, but he truly wasn’t able to confirm them until Jay Leno seemed to cut a deal with the NBC brass to move back to the Tonight Show after the failed variety show experiment.

Conan admits that the ratings were not good during his time working as the host of the Tonight Show and takes part of the blame.

It is the moment that many Americans have been waiting for: Conan is back.

Conan O’Brien is set to make his first appearance on television since his final appearance on “Tonight Show.” O’Brien will appear this Sunday night on “60 Minutes” in his first interview since his show was canned last year. According to sources, the airing of the show will mark the exact date that his contract with NBC ends. He has previously been bound to silence through a contract with his former employer.

The New York Times has reported that O’Brien met with correspondent, Steve Kroft, last week for the upcoming televised interview. O’Brien revealed during the interview that, while he is currently restricted from badmouthing his former employer or Jay Lenno, he still “flirts with the restrictions.”

It will be interesting to see how “60 Minutes” finagles promoting the upcoming episode of their show. O’Brien’s contract with NBC does not officially end until this coming Sunday, the same day that the episode is scheduled to air. This will prevent him from being seen on commercials for the upcoming show.

Kroft said of the hurdle, “I think we’ll just show me talking to him and have to blank his face out.”

Conan O’Brien has been touring in anticipation of his new late-night show that is to arrive in November. This tour is being dubbed “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour” by both Andy Richter and O’Brien. The new show will air on TBS during the 11PM time slot, Monday through Thursday. A number of Hollywood stars came out, including Jim Carrey, Aziz Ansari, Jack McBrayer, Jonah Hill, and Jon Hamm.

One of the most notable events at this stop of the tour was when funny man Jim Carrey surprised the entire audience, emerging as “Superman,” which was a tongue-in-cheek rendition of Five for Fighting’s “Superman (It’s Not Easy).”

Earlier in the week, O’Brien, the funny man and star behind his upcoming talk show said, “The tour is, honestly, the first time people have ever paid to see me perform. Truly. Of course, I’ve been paid to go away.”

A number of Hollywood stars also packed the audience, including Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman (Mullally’s hubby), as well as David Spade, Katy Perry, as well as her fiancée Russell Brand. Stand-up comedian actor playing Darryl Philbin in “The Office” was also in attendance.

If you’re a fan of “Team Coco,” expect to see more of this tour in the news, as it will conclude on June 14 in Atlanta, GA.

Conan O’Brien who ended his 1 year hosting job on “The Tonight Show” on January 22nd has already secured a new spot in late night TV. He will be moving to TBS in November and hosting a new late-night talk show.

The news came via a tweet from O’Brien saying “The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I’ll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show.” “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.”

The untitled show will air four nights a week, Monday through Thursday at 11pm.

George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight” show is currently in the 11pm timeslot but will be pushed back to midnight with Conan’s return. Lopez was happy with the news saying “I can’t think of anything better than doing my show with Conan as my lead-in. It’s the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy.”

Conan O’Brien is currently on his stand up tour “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour” which ends on June 14th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ex-Tonight Show host, Conan O’Brien, will be touring the United States starting April 12 doing what many say he does best: stand up comedy. The tour will begin in Eugene, OR and wrap up in Atlanta, GA in June. He will also be making a stop at the famous Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN on June 10-13.

This tour comes on the heels of a nasty battle between Jay Leno and Conan, which resulted in Conan leaving his post at The Tonight Show. NBC allowed Conan to fill the seat Leno left behind, and gave Leno a variety show that aired weeknights at 10 PM, in an effort to save money and boost ratings for the rapidly plummeting network. Jay and Conan were making headlines for continuing to take nasty potshots at each other, which left a bad taste in the mouths of most viewers. David Letterman, who is still doing his show on CBS, couldn’t resist joining in the fun. He took his own share of potshots at Jay Leno, as well.

Ticket sales for Conan O’Brien’s upcoming tour are expected to go on sale this month. The tour will cover 30 US cities, including a few stops in Canada. The tour will focus mostly on stand-up comedy, but Conan said fans would also get to enjoy some music.

Conan O’Brien may have disappeared from the airwaves, but he has popped up in the world of Twitter.

It seems O’Brien had something up his sleeve when he decided to randomly follow one of his followers on the popular networking tool, Twitter. Who was the lucky ‘tweeter’? Her name is Sarah Killen and she is a 19-year-old bride to be. Killen was alerted by O’Brien last Friday that her life was about to change.

He was not kidding. She started receiving phone calls within hours from news stations, websites and radio stations. She also started receiving followers at the rate of 150 per minute; at last count, she had over 20,000. She says that she cannot leave the house without being spotted, but on a brighter note she has been receiving gifts too. She has received wine for the reception of her upcoming nuptials, a designer wedding gown, money, and many more items from her new following.

Killen is not just on the taking end of this new found fame, she has decided to help the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Though her fiancé is happy with the outcome of the following, he said there is just one more thing that would make his big day complete; he wants O’Brien to serve as his best man.

It is in the works for Conan O’Brien to hit the comedy tour circuit soon. Plans are being made to set up tours across the country, skirting around contract stipulations that O’Brien cannot appear on television until September this year. This means there must not be any air time of this proposed tour. Fan response has been great, with true CoCo lovers ready to go to great lengths to get to his shows. Speculation is that the tour would start in the US and possibly on to Europe. Is Conan going on tour? It is a definitely maybe at this point.

O’Brien’s fan base has been largely in the under 50 age set. It is expected that the largest portion of the proposed tour will be in the college sector. His humor is considered off the wall and this appeals to the younger set. Gaining popularity by hitting the road could set up a larger fan base, sealing the deal for O’Brien to increase ratings for future television. No other venue will be accessible to O’Brien but there is a trick to all this. There must not be any televised portion of his tour. Security will have to be stepped up to prevent bootlegging of his performances. Is Conan going on tour? It looks promising.

The future is starting to take shape at NBC. Jay Leno will return to his coveted 11:35 p.m. timeslot, Conan O’Brien will walk away with pockets overflowing with cash, and NBC executives will search for a sacrificial scapegoat.

NBC worked out a contract in 2004 that guaranteed Conan O’Brien would be the host of the Tonight Show in 2009. He waited for five years only to have the rug rudely pulled out from under him after seven months.

O’Brien’s ratings are currently shooting through the roof. This morning, his fans congregated in front of WMAQ-TV’s studio in order to protest NBC’s treatment of the Tonight Show host. While a majority of the blame is aimed at Leno, he does not have the power to shuffle programming. NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker is the man that brought Jay Leno back to NBC after Leno left the Tonight Show. Zucker is also responsible for forcing O’Brien to accept either a later time slot or leave.

This situation has gotten out of hand. The scandal is generating a lot of publicity, but once the dust settles, Leno will have to contend with an audience that feels he stabbed Conan O’Brien in the back.

Jeff Zucker, an NBC executive is now threatening comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer Conan O’Brien with legal action in order to keep Conan off the air if he does not agree to let NBC switch back to its previous late night schedule where Conan would be following Jay Leno again as Jay once again takes over the prime time slot with the Tonight Show.

This is amid rumors that Conan is considering a huge contract offer from FOX executives in order to develop a late night television talk show for them.

Zucker would certainly put the breaks on such an agreement with FOX and likely never allow Conan to appear on the air for that company.

Conan has been making jokes on his show about only hosting the show for seven months until he is now being asked to leave by people like Jeff Zucker.

O’Brien fans have now formed a team on the internet called Team Coco which is a reference to one of the jokes on O’Brien’s show as a way to show support for NBC keeping Conan as host of the Tonight Show as Conan would prefer.

Jay Leno is making more money than Conan in that time slot so it is more likely Leno will win out according to media reports.

Meanwhile, according to The New York Times, NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol has defended Jay Leno calling O’Brien and Letterman “chicken-hearted and gutless to blame a guy you couldn’t beat in the ratings.”

“They’re just striking out at Jay,” he added. “It seems like professional jealousy.”

Ebersol suggested O’Brien is to blame for the late night mess.

“What this is really all about is an astounding failure by Conan,” Ebersol added, referring to “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien’s” ratings, which have fallen since O’Brien took over the reigns.
