It’s very unusual to have snow on the ground on Halloween.

There is up to 12 inches of snow and more in some areas, making it cold and wet for the trick or treaters.

Some areas have cancelled trick or treat as they have downed power lines and no power to many. Hopefully for the kids sake they will just postpone Halloween trick or treating until power has been restored.

Some parts of the east coast will not have power restored until Wednesday of this week and the power outage has affected millions. Temperatures are expected to rise this week.

Trick or treating is best experienced as night falls, and looking for signs like lit windows, candy bowls on porches and crowds of children make it easy to know which houses to approach.
