James Cameron’s movie “Avatar” was a great success. Mr. Cameron, a successful director has taken a lot of flack about the film. One charge being, that the film is a “Left-Wing” propaganda piece. Now the director has made a statement against the media giant Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck had attacked James Cameron and said he was running for “antichrist.” This charge prompted the director to refer to Glenn Beck as a **cking asshole. Glenn Beck reeling from the comment said he was only speaking in a joking manner when he made the “antichrist” charge.

Glenn Beck cannot understand why Mr. Cameron was so upset about the comment, since he is making a fortune from the film. Glenn Beck said it might be because he is a global warming denier. Glenn Beck always makes his opposition to global warming apparent to his audience.

In the past, Glenn Beck ran into trouble by his criticism of the hit film “Titanic.” Beck later said his attacks were not on the movie, but the song from the film, “My Heart Will Go On,” by Celine Dion.

This is good publicity for Glenn Beck, who went from an unknown on CNN, to a celebrity on the Fox Network. The more controversy he provokes, the better his ratings and the more money he earns.

The movie Titanic will be re-released in theaters as a 3-D event in 2012, 100 years after the original Titanic sank. The 1997 movie was an instant hit with audiences, critics, and the media alike. The movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, won eleven of the fourteen Oscars that the film was nominated for. The movie solidified DiCaprio’s heartthrob status among teen girls and also made a hit song of the movie’s theme song, “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion.

“Titanic” director James Cameron announced the 3-D movie plans in a recent interview. He said, “We’re targeting spring of 2012 for the release, which is the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the ship.”

“Titanic” was at one time the highest grossing movie, with one billion dollars in sales. Cameron broke his own record with his latest movie, “Avatar”, which made over two billion dollars. Avatar’s wild success in 3-D has inspired several movie re-releases that will be featured in 3-D. In addition to Titanic, the next “Toy Story” and “Shrek” movies will also be in 3-D, and there are rumors that movie executives are mulling over a re-release of the shark tale classic, “Jaws” in 3-D.

China has severely limited showings of Avatar in its cinemas. Only 3D showings of the film are permitted in China, and the country has very few theaters with the appropriate technology.

The ostensible reason for these restrictions is to make room for a patriotic biopic about the life of Confucius. However, there is speculation that the showings of Avatar have been limited because China’s government perceives subversive themes within James Cameron’s blockbuster.

Forced eviction in China is a daily reality, and perhaps the government is concerned that tenants may draw parallels between their own situations and that of the film’s extra-terrestrial protagonists, the Na’Vi.

The Chinese government’s suppression of Avatar is a symptom of a much larger issue in China. The nation is increasingly at odds with the West over its censorship policies, illustrated by their recent spat with Google. The search engine giant uncovered a sophisticated plot by Chinese hackers to access E-Mail accounts of their citizens.

In response, Google has announced its intention to cease operations in China. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed solidarity with Google, and called on China to embrace a free and open Internet. The ruling party bristles when any attempt is made by outside nations to influence its internal policies, and every indication is that they will not be swayed.

Director James Cameron really outdid himself this time. His new movie “Avatar” is now known to be the 2nd highest grossing film of all time, right under Cameron’s 1997 movie “Titanic” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Upcoming Aussie star Sam Worthington and gorgeous Zoe Saldana play the two main characters in this artistic and impressive film. “Avatar” is a beautifully directed science fiction love story between an alien and a paraplegic in a distant fantasy world called Pandora.

With most love stories there are steamy love scenes but you won’t be seeing any action if you see this popular film in the movie theaters. Director James Cameron decided to cut out the film’s sex scene to protect his rating of PG-13 which is very understandable considering the movie is hit amongst the younger crowd.

If you are anticipating watching the love scene between actors Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington then you will have to wait until the movie is released on DVD.

There’s no actual date set for the DVD release as of yet as the movie is still making it big in the box office.

“Avatar” continues to break records at the box office and hold off any competition.

The James Cameron sci-fi epic earned another $68.3 million over the New Year’s weekend, just a slight drop from Christmas weekend.

“Avatar” has grossed over $352 million domestically and over $1 billion worldwide making it the fourth highest grossing movie ever behind “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and James Cameron’s “Titanic”.

“Sherlock Holmes” starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law held onto second place for the second week earning $38.4 million. Just behind “Sherlock Holmes” with $36.6 million was the sequel to “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, titled “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”.

The comedy, “It’s Complicated”, starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin held onto its fourth place spot with $18.7 million.

Finally, rounding out the top five, which remain unchanged from last week, was “The Blind Side”, which after seven weeks still brought in $12.7 million pushing its total to over $200 million.

As of this writing “Avatar”, James Cameron’s tale of a culture clash between human and Na’vi on the fantastical world of Pandora, has made $726,612,776 worldwide in its first twelve days of release according to Box Office Mojo.

Domestically the film has grossed $250,419,951, while international audiences have contributed a whopping $476,192,825 to the increasingly impressive box office total.

The film is likely to cross $750 million in the next day or two, all but guaranteeing that “Avatar” will earn more than $1 billion worldwide by the end of its run. If it does so, “Avatar” would become only the fifth member of the exclusive $1 billion club, joining “Titanic”, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”, and “The Dark Knight”.

How many times have you seen Avatar so far?
