Stewart has taken pains lately to let the network know he isn’t very happy. Furthermore, the trend of late night personalities to take their show on the road has been growing. Conan O’Brien had a similar situation with NBC where he was failing to get the spot and money he believed he was due. Because of this, O’Brien jumped ship and is considering a late night show for the cable network.

Stephen Colbert and the “Colbert Show” will also stay put at least through the 2012 elections as well.

Both Stewart and Colbert are well known for their political satire among a younger viewing audience. In fact, that election season, polls found that most people under 30 were getting their facts and basing their opinions on shows like “Daily Show” and “Colbert Report”.

Comedy Central acknowledges that the shows are among their highest rated programs, which is why they decided to reinstate the pact.

George Lopez, who is well-known for his self-titled TV sitcom and stand-up comedy specials, says his show “Lopez Tonight” will appeal to people who are looking for something different from late night shows like the “Tonight Show”. Lopez has guest-hosted on several late night talk shows.

Wanda Sykes is also famous for her stand-up comedy performances. Her previous talk show experience includes work on HBO’s “The Chris Rock Show”. She says her show will not feature the “typical interview with the celebrity”.

“Lopez Tonight” airs Monday through Thursday nights at 11 PM Eastern time on TBS. “The Wanda Sykes Show” airs Saturday nights on FOX at 11 PM Eastern time.
