The mother of eight has been making waves with her hairstyles since her days on “Jon and Kate Plus Eight”. Her trademark short hair had many critics mocking the extreme style that became a Halloween Costume sensation. Once she separated from her husband, Jon, Kate appeared on the cover of People magazine with $7,000 hair extensions that took 20 hours to put in. Kate declared in the magazine that she wanted a fresh start and the hair was only part of it. However, the look proved to be too high-maintenance for the busy mom, and one month later the extensions were removed. Her hair remained medium length until her most recent trip to the salon.

After seven long hours of removing the blonde extensions, Kate was sighted sporting a new bob with side-swept bangs. Apparently the look is only temporary, and new extensions will be put in her hair tomorrow, which could take up to twenty hours to complete. Insiders say it is all in preparation for her look on hit show “Dancing with the Stars”. Her new hair will feature many different highlights and shades of blonde.

While some report that she allegedly hated the original extensions, claiming they looked unnatural and over-processed, apparently she didn’t hate them enough not to agree to put new ones in. However, she claims she is doing it all for the show, and not for herself.

It seems as though tomorrow there may be a new update about yet another new ‘do for Ms. Gosselin. Some may think that’s unfortunate, as her current short bob doesn’t really look all that bad!

While no definite plans have been released, there have been discussions about Kate doing a show by herself on TLC and there are also more recent rumors that her and former husband Jon Gosselin are re-negotiating to bring back Jon and Kate plus 8. The only thing we know for sure is that Kate will premier on Dancing With the Stars on March 22, and the fans will be checking out her hair as much as her dancing skills.

The official cast announcement will be made during the season finale of The Bachelor on March 1.

Gosselin first expressed her desire to appear on Dancing with the Stars during an interview with Jay Leno. During the interview, Gosselin laughed about her lack of dance skills, saying her appearance on the show would be a “sad sight.”

The show’s producers think Gosselin will attract a considerable audience to the already popular show. Instead of flying to the West Coast, Gosselin will be able to rehearse in her home state of Pennsylvania, so that she can remain close to her children.

Since her TLC show was canceled when her now ex-husband, Jon, forbade the network from filming the children, Gosselin has been strapped for cash. Since the divorce, she has been the family’s breadwinner. Her appearance on Dancing with the Stars will give her the financial boost she needs as well as give her 15 minutes of fame an extension.

The new season of Dancing with the Stars starts on Monday, March 22.

TLC eventually removed Gosselin from the show and renamed the program as “Kate Plus Eight.” After being removed from the program, Jon Gosselin sued the network for damages for breach of contract. In December 2009, the network won a preliminary injunction for the breach of contract suit. TLC defended themselves saying that Gosselin breached his contract when he appeared on numerous talk shows after all of the negative press he received.

Gosselin countered saying he had a right to use his media personality to earn a living and that the network violated Pennsylvania’s child labor laws when they filmed his children. Apparently, TLC and Gosselin have finally found a settlement, although the terms are held confidential.

In January, she turned to Ted Gibson, a hairstylist from the hit TLC show, What Not To Wear, to put in $7,000 long blond extensions. Her new extensions made the headlines as she was seen with them in a ponytail and baseball cap.

After sporting that look for about a month, she asked Gibson for a trim. He cut a little over 4 inches off of the extensions.

The new do is shoulder length and has some long bangs.

This new ‘do is still straight but it is more fitting for Gosselin. Gibson stated, “Now we thought shoulder length would be ideal – we wanted it to be straight, and sexy and moving.”

Gosselin was seen partying at Butter, a New York City hot spot shortly after cutting her hair extensions. She is set to release her third book in April. It is called I Just Want You To Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family.

This book will include journal excerpts, prayers, and a letter to child.

Recent pictures show that Kate has chopped at least 4 inches of her hair and is back to a shorter hairstyle, although it is not another extreme cut. An insider tells Us Weekly magazine, “She thinks her hair looks over­processed and damaged. She’s afraid people will think she’s one of Tiger Woods’ bimbos!”

The new ‘do is a longer shag cut that just hits the shoulders. She wears the new cut straight with side swept bangs. It is a look that is more conservative than both the spiky haircut and the long extensions.

Kate Gosselin Shows Off Yet Another New 'Do'

Kate Gosselin was a guest host on “The View” back in September of last year and has since been on many times to as a guest. Kate Gosselin is scheduled to go live March 11, 2010.

Other new celebrities that are scheduled to be upcoming guests on “The View” include fashionista and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham who will co-host for her first time as well as Twilight’s Robert Pattinson who will be coming on “The View” for the first time March 2nd.

Many are curious as to what Kate Gosselin will be saying on “The View”, particularly in regards to her ex-husband Jon Gosselin who is the subject of a lawsuit with TLC the channel who aired the show “John and Kate Plus 8″. Many may assume that in addition to answering questions about her ever changing hairstyle that Kate will have some interesting things to say about her ex.

TLC has been working with Kate to drum up a new reality show. Since the rules of the game have changed, fans are interested to see how interesting the show could be without a pair of tense parents. Sources claim that the show will again feature the young mother with her eight children but now will focus on Kate’s different experiences as a single mother.

TLC has yet to name the upcoming reality show and the network has not commented on Kate’s new show.

According to celebrity stylist Ted Gibson, who helped to transform Kate’s look, the price of the hair extensions alone totaled $5000. Figuring in an additional $950 for a Gibson haircut and $500 for the color, the total for a Kate-style makeover would run close to $7000. Gibson told RadarOnline that he wanted to transform Kate from “being really ordinary to really extraordinary”.

Gibson revealed that Kate seemed like a really good mom during the makeover, checking on her eight children “several times on the phone” during the 20 hour makeover session. To keep her hair looking stylish, Gosselin will have to have the style maintained every three or four months.

For Kate, the new hairdo comes just in time. Her ex, Jon Gosselin, has been seen about town with a new squeeze, Morgan Christie.
