Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, said she was desperate to transform herself from “a voluptuous little Italian girl” to a “skinny little ballerina.”

The 25-year-old singer revealed this information at a conference called “It’s Our Turn” held at the Brentwood School in Los Angeles over the weekend, according to reports. Gaga was a surprise guest at the event. While the “Born This Way” singer sat down for a 30-minute interview with Maria Shriver, the topic of eating disorders didn’t come up until the question-and-answer session, when a girl told Gaga that she struggled with her body image and wanted to know how the singer was so confident.

“I used to throw up all the time in high school. So I’m not that confident,” said Gaga. “I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night. I used to come home and say, ‘Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin.’ And he’d say, ‘Eat your spaghetti.’ It’s really hard, but … you’ve got to talk to somebody about it.”

Gaga said that at one point her bulimia got so bad that it began to damage her voice.

With dreams of being a “skinny little ballerina”, 25-year old Gaga engaged in the life-threatening eating disorder until the acidity from the eat-and-purge behavior affected her vocal chords, threatening her career.

Making her revelation at a young women’s conference in Los Angeles, she criticized the media for portraying her as thinner than she really is and for promoting dieting to young girls, saying girls are getting sick and it has to stop.

In addition to her struggles with bulimia and thinness, “Born This Way” Gaga talked about her father, who insisted on pasta and meatballs almost every day. She also discussed the bullying and isolation she suffered as a child and teenager.

Additionally she has had good album sales for the year. All of this combined to earn her the top honors as the highest paid female singer for the year. It seems like touring may be the key to success for singers, Taylor and Katy also did a lot of touring in the past year.

Pop star lady Gaga who is very unique and abstract in her dressing and singing style fears she would die like her fellow famous blonde Princess Diana.

It should be noted that Princess Diana died in a car accident while trying to flee from paparazzi that were obsessed with her every move.

Gaga who enjoys the same level of fame and attention from paparazzi as Diana did, has had dreams of dying just like princes Diana, either during a paparazzi pursuit, or in the hands of infatuated fans.

Gaga has been fanatical on Diana, and sees herself as 21st century incarnate of her.

“Gaga has always been absolutely fixated on Diana and sees herself as a 21st-century incarnation of her,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“She knows she is almost as recognisable as Diana and is hounded by photographers and fans on the same level.

“Gaga has had dreams about dying the same way as her and has genuine fears that her fame could literally kill her, either in a chase or at the hands of crazies.”

Gaga continues to shock with nude drawings by Bennett

While Lady Gaga was recording her duet “The Lady is a Tramp” with Tony Bennett for his Duets II album, she was also posing nude for him. At the request of Annie Leibovitz, Bennett sketched Gaga while she posed.

The Titanic-esque drawings will appear in Vanity Fair early in 2012.

Lady Gaga spoke about this experience during her televised Thanksgiving concert special.

She recalled feeling embarrassed at first before contemplating the surreality of the scenario: “It’s Tony Bennett, why am I naked?”

While Gaga may have been intimidated by Bennett, he has nothing but respect and reverence for her.

“She is the most beautiful person I ever met but there is something very special about her,” he says.

Gaga and Other Stars Cut from The Muppets

Lady Gaga’s big scene in The Muppets was cut due to run-time constraints.

Gaga was given a cameo appearance in the film in which she was supposed to go head to head with loveable, pig, Miss Piggy, but footage for the film exceeded 3-hours. The film had to be cut down to 98-minutes which meant Gaga had to go.

Producers wrestled with what scenes to pull and Gaga’s cameo simple was not important enough to the plot line to keep.

The film would have been Lady Gaga’s first parlay onto the big screen.

The star, however, was not the only star lost to the cutting room floor for The Muppets. Katy Perry’s scene was reportedly also cut.
