After an episode devoted to singing legend Madonna, it only seems reasonable for producers of “Glee” would entertain the idea of centering an episode around songstress Britney Spears. After all, she did lock lips with Madonna as millions looked on.

The thought was proposed by Spears’ manager via Twitter last week after the Madonna episode aired. It seems that the idea was not too farfetched as the show’s producer, Ryan Murphy, has said that they are considering the possibility. Murphy said, “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her. I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.”

Other singers that are being considered for the same-type episodes are Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin and Courtney Love.

It seems the idea of the Madonna episode was a smart one as the soundtrack from last week’s show, “Power of Madonna,” is set to debut at No. 1 this week and is topping iTunes download charts.

According to Murphy, Madonna was pleased with the episode. Said Murphy, “Her daughter got to watch it with her and loved it. She’s a smart cookie. I mean that introduced her music to an entire new generation.”

The songstress, who adopted Mercy and David from Malawi, returned to the country for a weeklong tour that is packed with several events for her charity, Raising Malawi.

Madonna was scheduled yesterday to visit the Millennium Village which is a United Nations initiative in the central border district west of Lilongwe.

Today, she will make a stop at the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls in order to lay the first brick. The school hopes to provide an education to 450 girls and serve as a model for future similar schools. This event will signal the official commencement of construction of the $15 million academy which broke ground less than six months ago. The academy is set to open in 2011.

“It is with tremendous joy that I return to Malawi to lay the first brick in the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls. By educating girls, we will rebuild this community and raise this nation,” Madonna wrote in a blog post for Raising Malawi.

Madonna is traveling with her children Lourdes, 13, Rocco, 9, Mercy, 5, and David, 4. She had hoped to reunite Mercy and David with their natural families, but is having problems accomplishing that goal because Mercy’s father has reportedly fled the country.

The 51 year old pop singer is known for her vocals and risque style of dress which often featured the use of lingerie as outer wear. Madonna feels that it is somewhat ironic that she finds herself wishing her daughter would dress differently, but refuses to tell her daughter how to dress.

Madonna claims that daughter Lourdes’ style is influenced heavily by the bands that she listens to, hip hop, ballet dancers, and other European influences.

Madonna and Lourdes have a new clothing line called Material Girl which is set to debut in August 2010. The line will be featured at the Macy’s New York location and will include back to school fashion and shoes as well as other accessories such as jewelry and handbags. The fashion line may begin to include some cosmetics next year.

Lourdes is Madonna’s first child and is also daughter of Carlos Leon.

Madonna is best known for her provocative dress and controversial antics upon stage and in her music videos. She has been featured in several films, but proved her silver screen prowess in the big screen adaptation of Evita.

Madonna recently said in an interview that she wished that her 13-year-old daughter would “dress more conservatively.” This is an interesting desire considering the singer is oftentimes seen performing in lingerie. She did say that she wishes Lourdes would just make wise choices even if she were not able to dress modestly.

The mother-daughter team have collaborated in a new line, Material Girls, which is expected to debut in Macy’s in August.

The singer said that initially she was not all about doing the clothing line because of the amount of time and energy involved in designing a clothing line, but when she saw her young daughter’s enthusiasm over the idea she could not turn the opportunity down. It seems to have been a good choice as her daughter’s work is turning the heads of designers such as Stella McCartney or Marc Jacobs.

Don’t think for a second that this is all the work of Madonna though, the singer says that the line is done mainly by Lourdes but Madonna does most of the press for the line; she does not yet want to put her young daughter in the limelight, she would rather have her focus on high school.

Seinfeld has created the show as a way to portray common marital spats in a humorous light. He has already got several celebrities including comedians lined up to sit in on the panel. The more outspoken the celebrity, the better the advice will be. The show is not meant to provide counseling or therapy but provide the couples with different opinions by their favorite personalities. The show will include clips of the couples bickering in their own homes.

The personalities will get the chance to offer their opinions on how to handle certain situations and what kind of actions they should take. Considering Hollywood’s infamous marriages the show has some serious comedy potential.

The show will air on NBC with the premiere on February 28th. Eva Longoria, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey are among the celebrities signed up for a guest appearance.

Since his controversial performance at the American Music Awards, Adam Lambert continues to spark debate.

On Wednesday’s Early Show appearance by Lambert, producers blurred the singer’s open-mouth kiss with nother man during his controversial performance at Sunday’s AMAs.  Seconds later, an undistorted clip of Madonna smooching Britney Spears at the 2003 MTV VMAs ran.

A CBS rep explained the decision to Extratv:

“We gave this some real thought. The Madonna image is very familiar and has appeared countless times including many times on morning television. The Adam Lambert image is a subject of great current controversy, has not been nearly as widely disseminated, and for all we know, may still lead to legal consequences.”

I think poor Adam Lambert is confused about what it takes to make it in the business. Unfortunately he doesn’t realize that he already has the talent and doesn’t need to showboat in that kind of arena. Although Adam Lambert is an amazing talent, his performance had no place on TV. Maybe in concert. I would not want my children to watch that performance. If he wants to act like that in one of his concerts that’s different. I don’t like it but at least I have a choice of buying a ticket and attending knowing the kind of show I might be exposed to. But there needs to be a sembalance of decency on TV. Especially where there might be a younger audience. What he did is inexcusable. I will never watch anything he is on. Not to mention the harm he has done to the gay cause in this country. He just played right into the gay sterotype that people object to. You have the right to your life as long as you don’t throw it in my face.

So was it ok for Madonna and Britney Spears to share a kiss on TV, but not Adam Lambert and a male keyboardist?

Furtado insists that she will never try and cheat father time in order to reverse the aging process, and would rather just sit around her kitchen and eat instead.

“I am not ready to adjust physically, just to be marketable. My sell-by date will run out eventually,” she said.

“Unlike Madonna, I wouldn’t be willing to do Pilates round the clock, just to slow down the deterioration of my body. I prefer to sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits,” she added.

Furtado recently revealed that she rewrote her new album, Mi Plan, just to please her daughter.

“I had English writer’s block so I decided to make an album in Spanish,” she said. “I played it to my daughter and she said to me, ‘Mummy there are too many slow songs. You need more fast songs.’

“So mummy went back to the studio and put a couple more fast songs on the album.

“She’s like a little A and R person and is pretty musical for her age.”
