A highly sought after performer, Furtado was once commissioned to perform for Libyan leader Gadaffi and his right-hand men.

Furtado has recently announced that she will be donating the money that the ill-fated leader paid her.

In 2007, Furtado was hired to perform for Libyan leader Gadaffi and much of his staff while they were visiting in Italy.

Gadaffi is the recently condemned leader who answered protests of the citizens of Libya with forcible violence, resulting in the deaths of several thousand people.

Furtado was reportedly paid $1M to perform the private concert. It is unclear which charity that she will be donating the money to.

Other performers said to have given private performances for the Gadaffi command and family are Usher, the Rolling Stones, and Beyonce, all of whom are now being pressured by music industry leaders to also donate the money that they received for those private performances.

Representatives for Usher, Beyonce, the Rolling Stones, 50 Cent, and Mariah Carey have all remained without comment on the matter.

Gadaffi is known for his history of violence and of demanding control, once having tried to lead a plot to assassinate former President Ronald Reagan.

Furtado insists that she will never try and cheat father time in order to reverse the aging process, and would rather just sit around her kitchen and eat instead.

“I am not ready to adjust physically, just to be marketable. My sell-by date will run out eventually,” she said.

“Unlike Madonna, I wouldn’t be willing to do Pilates round the clock, just to slow down the deterioration of my body. I prefer to sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits,” she added.

Furtado recently revealed that she rewrote her new album, Mi Plan, just to please her daughter.

“I had English writer’s block so I decided to make an album in Spanish,” she said. “I played it to my daughter and she said to me, ‘Mummy there are too many slow songs. You need more fast songs.’

“So mummy went back to the studio and put a couple more fast songs on the album.

“She’s like a little A and R person and is pretty musical for her age.”
