Beyonce’ and Jay-Z are being welcomed to the world of celebrity parenthood. Blue Ivy Carter, born on January 7th, of course, is already a famous little bundle of joy.

The proud parents will have many important decisions to make in her up-bringing. One of the greatest decisions will be to choose God parents, who will take on the responsibility of raising their child in case of an unspeakable event.

Rumour has it that Oprah Winfrey has been asked to be her Godmother and supposedly has already sent a trunk full of books as a baby gift. However, according to her gal pal, Gayle King, well these rumours just aren’t so.

She states that Oprah was on her way to South Africa when the announcement of Baby Blue Ivy arrived and hasn’t had time to even send a gift, much less make the decision to become her Godmother.

She does go on to say that Oprah is regarded as a close friend to Beyonce’ and Jay-Z, but there is no merit to the rumour at this time.

The two preceding lead up shows also drew significant numbers of viewers. When asked if leaving the talk show stage would be bittersweet, Oprah replied that is was “all sweet.”

Reports are coming in that OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network, is off to a disappointing start. This show which joined up with the discovery channel, is a differently formatted show. Oprah is optimistic that her focus will turn the show around.

She has stated that she had been preoccupied with her final talk show episodes. If anybody can make this new venture work, Oprah can. She is a very determined soul. Daytime talk show fans will miss Oprah’s distinctive encouraging presence.

Oprah Finale Boasted 16.4 Million Viewers.

Oprah Winfrey has been welcomed into our homes for all of 25 years now and as she gets ready to call it quits some of her guests whom she called her friend along with about 13,000 others or considered her as their friend were in attendance for a farewell event.

Maria Shriver, Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks were among the popular guests to attend this memorable tear jerker and because it was expected to rain within the auditorium a box of Kleenex was placed under every seat. The event was nothing short of a love fest with plenty of hugs and kisses to go around.

According to some viewers the best episodes that they had the privilege to watch were Legendary Soaps Unite, which took place this year, Mattie Stepanek which was about a child who ended up passing away at 13 and Jacqui Saburido the 19 year old that was hit by a drunk driver.

Other celebrities that appeared in front of the 13,000 audience members included Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Tom Hanks, Maria Shriver, Maya Angelou, Dr. Phil, Nate Berkus, Kristen Chenoweth, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Dr. Oz, and Michael Jordan.

One of the most memorable moments was when Oprah’s partner of 25 years, Stedman Graham, who rarely makes appearances, took the stage and spoke. He said of Oprah “I’m so proud of you and your success. The show has been No. 1 for 25 years, which is a credit to you and your team and millions of viewers around the world. This is amazing. It amazes me to be around a woman who changes lives everyday and takes her own lunch to work. I love you for making a difference in my life.”

The shows will air on May 23 and 24 with the last show taping next week and airing on May 25.

Oprah Tapes Last Episodes

Lauren is known for shying away from the press. He has not done a TV interview in over 20 years. Oprah will take a look inside his ranch in Telluride, CO. Harpo producers are hoping that viewers will feel as though they are inside a Ralph Lauren advertisement.

The interview airs on May 18. Oprah fans are on the edge of their seats to see who else will be interviewed in the final seven Oprah Winfrey shows.

Now she’s fearful that if she repeats her personal public campaign for Barack Obama, it could undercut female viewer support for her new network, OWN. It’s a real dilemma.”

Oprah begins with none other than Stevie Nicks. She has dominated the music scene for nearly 40 years. First she the front woman for the legendary Fleetwood Mac and then took some time to be a hit solo artist.

She reunited with Fleetwood Mac in 1997. Fans were thrilled as they performed in sold-out venues all over the country. For years women everywhere imitated her gypsy-like style and still enjoy her music. Stevie is still performing at age 62 and says that she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Researcher Brad Adgate says thirty seconds of ad time are being sold for $1 million. Oprah’s finale is commanding higher ad rates than the final episodes of Lost and 24 even though the show has a smaller audience. Oprah is seen by roughly seven million viewers.

The ad rate for Lost’s finale was $900,000. Fox sold ad time for 24 at $650,000. The last show to break the $1 million rate for its finale was Everybody Loves Raymond. Advertisers paid $1.2 million for each thirty seconds.

Adgate says that Everybody Loves Raymond and Oprah aren’t even close to the most expensive finale for advertisers. The last episode of Friends sold ad time at almost $2 million for each thirty second ad.

Oprah’s final episode is set for May 25th.

Ad Rates for Oprah Finale Reportedly $1 Million

The story came to light in legal documents obtained by TMZ. Dr.Phil is being sued for defamation by two men associated with the case of Natalee Holloway, the American teenager who came up missing during a trip to Aruba.

Holloway’s mother, Beth, was scheduled to appear on the Oprah show in September of 2005. But emails sent between Dr. Phil and his staff indicated they wanted to beat Oprah to the interview. Dr. Phil wrote that he was willing to change the show’s shooting schedule to accomplish the scoop. He further indicated that if Holloway mentioned the plan to Oprah’s team they would likely change their schedule. There has been no comment from either Dr. Phil or Oprah.
