While out in NYC with her Emma Stone, Swift was photographed with a new straight hair style

So far, she’s sticking to her usual blond color.

Swift and Stone were seen going into a candy store and out to dinner at an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village.

The 20-year-old country star has been in New York City for Friday’s Z100 Jingle Ball, where she performed.

The new look caused quite a debate yesterday:

Taylor is absolutely lovely, nomatter what, but I do prefer her curly hair, I’m sure like most of us with curly hair she’ll switch it up from time to time. To those of you saying she is talentless, do you realize she writes her own songs? How many people in the music business

Curly suits her thin face better. I like country music and she came out as a country music singer but only because CW music is popular and their fans are very loyal. CW music is NOT her genre. Curly hair good! Her music is not my thing!

Her hair shouldn’t affect the quality of her singing. Lots of people, guys included, change hairstyles a lot more frequently than she has. Plus, she’s easy to recognize with the curls.Perhaps she was hoping for a degree of anonymity for a few minutes. Who’s to say she won’t have curls again tomorrow? (I have straight hair, but I do curl it once or twice a year.)

It seems many women country singers go through this phase. Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, and Shania Twain being examples. They all came in curly and once they hit it big, went straight. This is nothing new and certainly not newsworthy. So the girl changes her hair…big deal.

Taylor Swifts New Straight Hair Style Causes Debate

Taylor Swift walked away with five trophies at last night including the top prize – Artist of the Year. Swift beat out the late Michael Jackson, who won four awards.

“To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson, who we will miss and love forever is an unimaginable honour,” Swift said.

Jay-Z scored two – favourite male rap/hip hop artist and favourite rap/hip hop album. Black Eyes Peas were another multiple winner, taking home the favourite pop/rock group and R&B group awards.

The night wasn’t without memorable performances – Jennifer Lopez fell on her famous butt during her number, Adam Lambert made out with a male dancer during his performance and Lady Gaga offered up another one of trademark performances that included a flaming piano.

Plus Janet Jackson kicked off the festivities.

The 19-year-old sensation has the record sales. She beat out every living artist – no matter the genre – this year with more than 3 million copies of her “Fearless” CD sold and counting (only Michael Jackson has sold more). The album remains No. 3 after 51 weeks on the charts

And she’s moving concert tickets as fast as they can print them.

That might be enough to sway the more than 5,000 members of the Country Music Association, who decide who gets the trophy for entertainer of the year, the CMA’s highest honour, at the CMA Awards on Wednesday night (the broadcast will air live on ABC).

She’s the youngest ever nominated for the award and the first solo female act since Faith Hill in 2000, and she’s faced a lot of questions about whether either is a limiting factor.

“I think you have to do the work and put in the effort and do the touring that it takes to win entertainer of the year,” she said in an interview with The Associated Press. “And I don’t really think it has anything to do with gender. I think if you want to compete with the boys, play on a level that they’re playing at.”

Swift will also be performing the night’s opening number.

The 43rd Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will air live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 11 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Taylor Swift Expected To Clean House At CMA's

In her opening monologue, Swift addressed her ex Joe Jonas, singing, “You might think I’d bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone. But I’m not gonna mention him. Hey, Joe. I’m doing really well. I’m hosting SNL.”

She then moved on to rumoured boyfriend Taylor Lautner, singing “If you’re wondering if I might be dating that werewolf from Twilight, I’m not gonna talk about that,” then playfully waving and mouthing “I love you” to the camera.

She closed by adding, “We have a great show. Kanye West is not here!”
