This is the second year that Romo has taken up his clubs in pursuit of his golfing dreams. Last year he had a good showing in the competition making it to the second level of the sectional qualifiers. Where he had to bow out due to a rain delay in the competition that led to a conflict with the Cowboys off season work-out schedule.

This year the U.S. Open is set to occur at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, on June 16th-19th. And the outlook is bright for the multi-talented athlete Tony Romo. So many athletes have trouble finding their place after football, perhaps professional golf is the answer for Romo.

Romo will compete in qualifying tournaments in Texas in a bid to try and play in the U.S. Open which will be held June 16-18 at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.

Romo done well in a qualifying tournament last season but had to withdraw from the tournament because of a Dallas Cowboys training obligation. Romo has always been one of the top players at celebrity tournaments and pro-ams.

Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo has asked Candice Crawford to marry him.

Candice is the sister of Chace Crawford, who stars on the TV show Gossip Girl.

She is currently employed at KDAF Dallas-Fort Worth after attending the University of Missouri. The 24 year old has also worked for KOMU-TV and KTVT which is the station affiliated with the Dallas Cowboys.

Crawford and Romo have been keeping their relationship low-key. Although Crawford attended the Cowboys’ training camp in August, it was only recently announced that they were dating.

Romo was previously romantically linked to pop singer and actress Jessica Simpson.

Crawford is a sports reporter at the station KDAF-TV, Dallas. The station reported that a quarter of 30 years is now enganged to the Crawford, 24.

Romo has not played since suffering a broken collarbone Oct. 25, facing the New York Giants. He was previously linked the singer Jessica Simpson.

On the website of KDAF, it says that Crawford, who grew up in Dallas, is a passionate sport fan that enjoys running, playing basketball and cooking, in addition to attending Cowboys games.

In the second quarter Romo smoked a pass to wide receiver Miles Austin then took a full head on hit by unblocked linebacker Michael Boley who drove his left shoulder right into the ground.

Romo was down on his back gasping for breathe, in terrific pain, and unable to get up until trainers came to his side.

He thought he could come back on the field later but was held back by trainers who then took him for X-Rays. It was then found that he had a fracture of the left clavicle bone or what is also know as the collarbone.

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, said he was told that Romo could be out 6 to 8 weeks. A similar break to Troy Aikman’s collarbone, a previous Cowboy quarterback, had him out for only 4 weeks.

It is not known why the quarterback decided to end the relationship. Jessica Simpson still has great affection for Tony Romo as seen by her recent comments. She said she is still excited by his cute butt. Jessica Simpson, like Tony Romo are silent as to the cause of the ending of the relationship.

The reason might be the poor performance on the part of Romo, when he was involved with Jessica. Many teammates did not like the idea of Jessica Simpson attending the Cowboy’s games. They believed it threw Tony Romo off his game and led to many defeats.

Jessica Simpson recently moved into country music as her musical niche. She has often been criticized for everything from her intelligence to the way she dresses. The press and critics have always criticized her and then made her the scapegoat for Dallas losses. However, it does take two to tango and Jessica Simpson should not have been criticized for Tony Romo’s decisions.

Romo infamously dumped Simpson on her 29th birthday after dating for nearly two years. She has not come right out and bashed him, but she has revealed she is still fond of his “cute butt.” When asked why the pair split, she puts it back on Romo and simply says “ask him.” She claims the two are still friends, and she remains a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

While she and Romo dated, Simpson was blamed for Romo’s poor performances during a few football games. Dallas Cowboys fans and several players actually requested she not attend anymore games. Romo stood by his woman throughout the controversy, and she still supported her man, just from a distance.

While dating Romo, the media shifted their focus from her being a bad talisman for the Cowboys, to her weight. She was constantly slammed in the media for gaining a few pounds and wearing outfits that did not flatter her fuller figure. Simpson says Romo helped her get through some rough moments and always made her feel sexy.

Simpson stated that the two were still friends after their 2009 breakup and that she still enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys play to see Romo’s physical assets. She said in the interview, “Tony is great, still a friend of mine,” Simpson said. “I’m still a fan. I still look at his cute butt in the outfit – uniform.”

Simpson appears to still be confused on what led to the end of their relationship, saying, “What went wrong? You’d have to ask him that.” She also revealed to Letterman, “He broke up with me on my birthday.”

Simpson has also previously told People magazine that the football star helped her through a difficult time when her weight fluctuations were scrutinized in the media.

Romo led a single progression that culminated in a major, joining Patrick Clayton in the end zone with a pass from 10 yards with 2:41 to play in the game and the Cowboys have kept their grip on the forefront of the eastern section of the National Association.

“We’ve had better Mondays, but it’s part of playing in the National Football League,” Romo said. “It’s slowly getting better, and by game day I should be good to go. It’s going to take a lot more than this to keep me out.”

Coach Wade Phillips said Monday that Romo was feeling better.

“Certainly he was affected by getting kicked or hit in the back” Phillips said.

Romo went through a full practice Wednesday.

“It’s been good,” Romo said when asked how he felt. “We’ve been able to get through a lot of plays. It’s been a very strong two practices from the mental side of it, so I think the guys are ready to go.”

Rony Romo Expect To Play Thursday

Tony Romo launched a touchdown pass of 49 yards to Miles Austin halfway into the last quarter as the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 20-16 Sunday night in the 100th clash between two rival sections.

Romo completed 21 of his 34 passes for a total of 307 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

As for the Eagles, Donovan McNabb has been more staggered, one week after beating the Giants 40-17. McNabb threw for a total of 227 yards and a touchdown and was intercepted twice for the first time this season.

When the last day of the regular season in 2008, the Eagles had completely dominated the Cowboys in a 44-6 win games for both teams. The Eagles had obtained their passes with the win and had then won two playoff games on the road to get to the championship game of the National, they lost to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cowboys (6-2) had spent the offseason pondering over this defeat.

Sunday, they got a little revenge by taking possession of first place in the East in the NFC with their fourth straight win.

The Eagles now have a record of 5-3 and the Giants, despite having had a great start (5-0) are now 5-4.
