Another fight was with Vitor Belfort as he faced Anthony Johnson in a fight that ended in the first round.

Though Johnson failed to make the weight on Friday, he still ended up losing to Belfort with a rear necked choke.

It appears that Evans was too much for Ortiz. Perhaps Ortiz was not in good enough shape to take on Evans because he did agree to fight Evans after receiving short notice.

Evans is now waiting for the winner of the mach-up between Jon Jones, the current light heavyweight champion, and Quinton Jackson. The fight is set to take place September 24 in Denver, Colorado.
