UFC 142 has been one of the most exciting ones as of late. Most UFC events will go a whole day without one knockout and UFC 142 certainly had it’s fair share of knockouts.

The first fight in Rio De Janeiro featured two amazing finishes and will be nominated as the knockout of the year. Both fighters were Brazilian and so it was a great homecoming for both fighters.

Another fight was with Vitor Belfort as he faced Anthony Johnson in a fight that ended in the first round.

Though Johnson failed to make the weight on Friday, he still ended up losing to Belfort with a rear necked choke.

Most people will admit that UFC is a great sport to watch but a lot of people have been complaining about how “boring the fights have become.

UFC 142 was definitely a great comeback for the sport and surely people are noticing.

Last night, the Pay-Per-View UFC 133 match-up between Junior Ortiz and Rashad Evans at the Wells Fargo Center in Pennsylvania was a brief thriller.

In a showcase match, Ortiz and Evans went after each other for two rounds. Evans looked like he might lose the fight in the first round, but he came back strong in the second round and pounded Ortiz. Evans beat Ortiz with a TKO.

It appears that Evans was too much for Ortiz. Perhaps Ortiz was not in good enough shape to take on Evans because he did agree to fight Evans after receiving short notice.

Evans is now waiting for the winner of the mach-up between Jon Jones, the current light heavyweight champion, and Quinton Jackson. The fight is set to take place September 24 in Denver, Colorado.

Evans says he is ready to take on whoever wins, which is sure to be another thriller.
The main event of UFC 127 saw BJ Penn, and Jon Fitch battle three rounds, to a majority draw. Through the first two rounds the action was slow and even. In the third Fitch came out, blasting Penn with elbows and fists on the ground, in an attempt to seal the fight. The third round burst was enough to sway one of the judges, but the two others scored the bout an even 28-28.

Michael Bisping continued his winning ways, by pummeling Jorge Rivera in two rounds. Dennis Siver threw a wrench into the plans of light-weight contender George Sotiropoulos, grinding out a unanimous decision victory over the surging contender.

Brian Ebersole, in his first UFC appearance, dismantled the resurgent Chris Lytle, picking up a decision after three rounds. Kyle Noke his former TUF 11 cast-mate Chris Camozzi with a rear-naked choke in just 95 seconds, making the bout the shortest of the night.

UFC 127 has not happened yet, but sports writers offer plenty of predictions.

UFC Light Heavyweight mixed martial arts champion has recently sat down with a sports columnist to discuss his picks for UFC 127.

Both the sports columnist and the UFC fighter agreed that Sotiropoulos, Lytle, and Noke would win their rounds in the ring.

The columnists had differeing opinions for the remaining scheduled fights.

Odds determinations services are split on the possible outcomes and betting has been largely even.

UFC will take place in Australia in February 26. ESPN will air the matches on February 26 at 10 p.m.

Jorge Rivera gained the largest point advantage in the professional betting industry, according to the Doc’s Sport service website.

Most people placing bets will place their bets on the outcome of the match between B.J. Penn and John Fitch.

The two opponents have not yet competed in the famous Mixed Martial Arts octagon, and both hope to gain a shot at a title through the match.

UFC fight predictions have run the gamut from the uncannily accurate to the amazingly lucky guesses in the past.

Predictions should only be used as a guideline for people placing bets and for entertainment purposes

UFC 125 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas has left many fans demanding a rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. Their lightweight championship fight led to a split draw after five rounds nail-biting suspense. The initial knockdowns made it seem as though Edgar would be losing his title belt to Maynard, but he made a comeback to maintain his belt. The judges final scores resulted in a score of 47-46 Edgar from Jordan Breen, 47-47 Draw from TJ De Santis, and 48-47 Maynard from Mike Whitman. Although neither Edgar nor Maynard came away as victor, they both earned $60,000 bonuses for “Fight of the Night.”

Clay Guida’s guillotine choke of Takanori Gomi earned him the $60,000 bonus for “Submission of the Night” and Jeremy Stephens’s combination of “The Irish Hand Grenade” and a standing-to-ground punch earned him the bonus for “Knockout of the Night” against Marcus Davis.
