I don't understand why people are so ignorant to other competition out there. We've all had our problems with customer service and no company is better than the other in terms of that. I have been with Bell for well over 5 years and switched from Telus because of horrible service that I received and overpriced plans. That was my reason for switching. Other people may have experienced the opposite and that is quite alright.

My parents are still with Telus and to this day they are still calling every other month because of charges that they didn't put on their phone.

I'm kinda excited for the new wave of cellphones and the new network that is coming t Bell. It'll be a great upgrade and unless you experience the new upgrade, old Bell users shouldn't complain.

My friends with Rogers, if you think they're a better company, have had the worse service and limited range. We went camping in the mountains and I stood next to my friend who's with Rogers and called them and the call didn't even register at all. So what good is a phone that doesnt even work in a rural or remote area? I'd never go with Rogers personally because I'm always in the mountains hiking, snowboarding or camping. I'd like to know that I can call out and be reached if something ever happened to me. Many have switched to Bell or Telus for that reason.

Regardless, check your facts and your own personal reasons for checking before bashing everyone else's choices.

YAPUDAN: You are a very confused individual. A monopoly is defined as "exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market, or a control that makes possible the manipulation of prices." Bell is not a monopoly. Their prices are kept in check by competition from Rogers and Telus as well as a slew of other companies for other services such as Videotron, Shaw, Cogeco, etc.

For every person that posts they have had a customer service problem with Bell, there is another who had problems with Rogers or Telus. When i was in the US, i had the same problems with Sprint and Verizon. Big companies all have customer service problems

YAPUDAN - you don't even know the companies name you're referring to...it's Globalive [(Wind) based in Egypt], and it's the CRTC regulations of Canadian ownership not other cell phone companies that are stopping their entry...you lost credibility there. Perhaps you didn't have all your facts when you thought/ think Bell defrauded you too??

Its a competition and now Bell and Telus will have the best network coverage but Rogers will hit back( first we got to come up with a billion dollars for upgrades) its not cheap to set up a network and piggybacking is a way of life, I heard the same about India however the jobs are not coming back to Canada, they are going to the States, Costa Rica, St Kitts, Bell now supports other countries for employment more than it cares for its own people, go figure...Where is the Goverment helping with keeping jobs in Canada at this time of need?

I just want to say all you peopel defending bell are fools. This company is basically a professional criminal. There is a monopoly in this country. A new company called globespan can't enter the market becuase of the crtc meanwhile Bell and Telus and Rogers somehow have some kind of authority to vote on the entry of this new company which they obviously halted the emergence of globespan. All I have to say is I am sickened how this company treats it's customers. I look forward to the day when some competition will enter the market. I will do everything in my power to cause this company to go bankrupt. Words cannpt describe the disgust I have for this company. I have been defrauded and taken advantage of and want to warn anyone thinking about switching to bell. I look forward to google voice and skype becoming more mainstream and accesible on mobile phones. I will gladly celebrate to watch this companies revenues decrease and see their stock price plummet. What goes around comes around Bell!!! Be forewarned that I will do everything in my power to expose the fraud and dishonesty that define your practices. I will short your stock, hack your systen, whatever it takes to repay you for how you have taken advantage of me.

Bell bashers, eat your hearts out!! Most other phone providers piggy back off of Bell's Network, so no matter who you're with, Bell gets your money, regardless!
My only beef with Bell is that they outsource their Tech support and part of their Customer Service to India and that's a real pain, considering how poorly trained those wanna-be reps are, their English sucks big time!! Fortunately, Bell got wise and pulled back a large amount of those jobs back to Canada. About time, too!
Bell is still the Best, bar none!

In spite of all your posted criticism of Bell, they are still the biggest, most efficient Telco around and HAVE the biggest Network of all the "other" players in the industry. If you think Bell's C/S is lousy, you haven't talked to the rude and ignorant idiots at Telus or Rogers. They are as dumb as bricks for the most part!! I've been a Bell customer for ages and have No intentions of switching.

"UMTS/HSPA" uses sim cards. Bell's customer service does suck but useless and old technology are no longer applicable - for all their new phones going forward anyway

That's sad that it will only be with Bell. They are not the biggest player in the telecommunication industry.
