With a national focus on finding ways to find new efficient alternatives to replace our current sources of energy, one new company claims to have found away that could help us lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
Bloom Energy which is a new startup company has disclosed that they have come up with a fuel cell technology that could replace conventional forms of energy.
K.R. Sridhar, who is the CEO of the new Silicon Valley, CA based company, talked on CBS’s hit show “60 Minutes” about how his company’s new technology uses fuel cell technology to recreate electricity.
Sridhar showed on “60 Minutes” how a refrigerator sized “Bloom Box” could create electricity chemically. A huge benefit of the Bloom Box is that it could create electricity anywhere and not give off any toxic emissions.
Although the company is quite new, many high profile American companies have already started using the Bloom Box to partially power their operations. EBay, Google, and Federal Express have all reportedly started using the Bloom Box.
Bloom Energy also has found a practical use that can be applied for all people. One Bloom Box, which costs up to $800k, could be used to power over 100 homes.
