The Bing search engine will soon be on Android phones in China and later on Android phones worldwide. This news comes on the heels of Motorola’s announcement of a pact with software giant Microsoft. Google’s response to this alliance has been to block the use of apps on Android phones from Chinese carriers.
Motorola intends to add a Bing search widget and Bing browser bookmark to their new phones based on Google’s open source operating system. This should be in effect by the end of the quarter. However, early reports suggest that Bing will not be the default provider on the browser search box of these devices. Motorola has been unwilling to confirm or deny this.
The agreement between Microsoft and Motorola to incorporate Bing search on Android phones in China comes amidst the challenges that Google is facing in China. Google has stated that it will no longer censor Chinese search results, but it continues to do so as it negotiates with the Chinese government.
Earlier in the year, Google threatened to close its China operation in response to an attack on its network that originated in China. Google also intended to delay the release of a Motorola and Samsung Android phone on Chinese carrier China Unicom.

NO BING.. Android is great with out MS.
Bing doesn’t have to worry about censoring search results. It’s such a poor search engine you have to tell it a web page exists before it casn find it.
its just a widget if you dont want to use it dont click on it and if they make it default which i dought they will just change the default and you can probably delete the widget too. you guys act like its the end of the world or somthing.
I miss the Bing mapping software that was on WinMo. I liked it better then Google Maps for finding movie times and local locations. Not that Google Maps is bad. As a search engine Bing just plain bites.
