15-year-old girl indicted In 9-Year-Olds Murder

On Wednesday a 15-year-old girl from Missouri was indicted on first degree murder.

According to reports, Alyssa Bustamante allegedly strangled, stabbed and cut the throat of her 9-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olten (pictured).

The judge entered a “not guilty” plea on behalf of Bustamante, who sat speechless and shackled in the courtroom.

From  missourinet.com:

Law enforcement testified that Bustamante had led them to the shallow grave in the woods where Olten’s body was found two days after she went missing. One officer testified in court today that Bustamante had told investigators she did it “because she wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone.”

The grand jury indictment accuses Bustamante of killing Olten by strangling her, cutting her throat and stabbing her. She’s also charged with armed criminal action for using a knife in the attack.

The charges were shortly after Bustamante had been certified to stand trial as an adult.

Bustamante is being held without bond in Cole County jail.

    So this is only the beginning of what is sweeping our country with a 2nd generation not having the 10 commandments to live by. When America took God out of schools, he started to let her fall. She will “GO DOWN” if we don’t start praying and teaching our kids to trust Him.

    I am appauled at this girl, what is wrong with her, she wanted to see what it felt like to kill someone, please, her punishment should be what she did to that 9 year old. I don’t believe she should receive anything less. she deserves everything she gets.
    I don’t want to hear about rehabilitation for her, she doesn’t deserve any kind of rehabilitation for what she did.

    I hope the courts punish her good for what she did.

    there is no god. people are suffering every where

    She looks like she’s crazy but aside from that, kids need their butts spanked. Too many parents are letting the children parent them. If I stepped out of line, you better believe that a foot up my @ss quickly set me on the straight and narrow. I see nothing wrong with corporal punishment…its done me more good than bad

    @Sad,

    Instead of babbling about God why don’t you look at some statistics. Despite what you see (Spotlight Fallacy) this is the least dangerous generation of americans ever. Crime statistics among minors are way down, but reporting is way up (14-18 year olds are lower then they have been in 30+ years). So if what you say is true, then removing the 10 commandments has actually made us all safer. If you feel like gaining some knowledge try this: ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/welcome.html .

    I am sorry but that 15 year old killed that 9 year old to see what it felt like. That is scary. You hear things like this from serial killers. She purposely killed and she should be tried as an adult. That is what you call premeditated.

    Don’t know about the role of religion, in helping people become better humans. It appears that religion is doing the complete opposite. We as parents are supposed to be the ones to set our kids on the straight and narrow, and stop depending on GOD, TEACHER, PREACHER.

    I think this is more of the distruction of a stable home. The Mothers work and for the most part the kids raise themselves. A family that is involved in family activies are far less likely to go down this road or all the other roads that distroy youth. Love your children everyday in every way and they will love others.

    @Tameka
    you know that that picture is of the victim, not the murderer

  10. Jim says:

    Since she wanted to see how if feels to kill someone, I suppose she would also want to see how it would feel to die that same way. No? What sense of right and wrong do the parents exhibit to their children, or does this girl have a mental problem?

  11. Debra says:

    I agree where are the parents and teaching are children the right and wrong in life.

  12. Jim says:

    My parents both worked and on different shifts. There were a few hours each day that we (I am a twin) were left alone and we were only 5. We were even left alone at night when our dad was at union meetings or had a safety class. We were definitely disciplined and taught what was wrong and what was right in no uncertain terms. We also had loaded guns in a broom closet that had no door and we lived near the end of town. Didn’t mess with those guns until I was 12 and curious and shot one off in a field.

    I believe she should get the death penalty.Anyone who cold heartedly kills someone else with full malice and premeditation, should be publicly executed.To send the message we are not going to put up with such crimes here in america.It is hight time the lawmakers set presidence that we americans will not tolerate thease sort of hanious crimes .
