Being a Mother I understand why you feel that way. It is the human part of us. The Bible says and eye for an eye, right? Hopefully he will get the death penalty.

After serving 2 tours in Iraq it really saddens me what has transpired at Fort Hood, Texas. What really gets me is how it seems the government is trying to pass the buck, about this soldier (Hasan) being a terrorist, looking through his emails, records etc. If the red flags were seen that this guy obviously was flying high, there would be no memorials, funerals, or saddened loved ones, friends and family. This guy should have been removed out of his position the day that he proclaimed anger toward being deployed, I really don't think that new recruits really think about the words of that oath when they raise that right hand and swear or affirm. You are to pleging to defend the United States against enemies foreign and domestic, if there should ever be questions of doubt in your mind about that and who the people are that one day you may have to kill in order to survive, then the US Armed services is not for you. I believe that when (Hasan)
was angry, it was because he did not want the guilt of
going to the middle east and possibly killing his relatives or people of the same faith as his, This is why this man should not have been listening to horrifying war stories told by soldiers, he should not have been in the mental health field, because he was mentally ill himself, and like i said if you feel anger
and anguish when being told to deploy to the combat zone you should not have joined in the first place. Many people have died in war, I had two uncles killed in Vietnam, and a dad that was shot eight times in World War II and lived to retire from the Army in 1964 after 23 years of service. What ever the law's decision is for (Hasan) I pray that God has mercy on his soul for the slain soldiers, their families, friends, and loved ones. My prayers are with you in this pivotal time of history. Yes he indeed was the shooter, but in actuality, The U.S. Army should have caught this way before it got out of hand.
God Bless Us All!

My son is in the Army stationed at Fort Hood, and he wasn't very far away from where the shootings occurred. I was scared out of my mind for him and his friends. This person, if he even qualifies to be a member of the human race, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But I would actually much rather see him dumped out in the desert somewhere to fend for himself! But that doesn't make me a very good human being either.

Unfortunately, he will now get the best care in a military hospital for the rest of his life. Taking the attention away from soldiers and sailors who rightfully deserve it. Some system we have!

Bless you and your child who is offering his (her?) service to our country. However, I feel I must correct something here. When Robert Liberty says "Love is the law, love under will" he is quoting a scholar named Aleister Crowley. Believe me, there is nothing PC or love-not-war about Crowley. And love IS the way. Eschew anger and always work and hope for peace.

That said, the deeply ironic thing about what this Hasan did is that, according to my ex-military husband, he was a doctor, and would never have had to shoot at anyone. He would have been rear guard all the way. The thing that irks me is that now we taxpayers have to pony up to pay for this murderer's expensive lifelong medical care in a time when more and more doctors are making people pay big fees on top of all other medical expenses. (See the article on msnbc.com this morning, Patients Face Bitter Choice: Pay Up Or Lose Care). This man's family should have to pay for his care, and the money that would have been used should go to more deserving patients.
