In recent years the seat as Governor of California has often drawn the interest of unusual celebrities, but the most recent may be the most unusual of all. Prince Frederic von Anhalt, who is the flamboyant husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, has officially entered the race for Governor of California. Von Anhalt flew to Sacramento on Wednesday to officially file the required candidacy paperwork.

The 65 year old Von Anhalt is a notorious socilate and the 8th husband of Gabor. His political campaign seems rather unimportant and possibly self serving as his campaign is hoping to legalize both prostitution and marijuana as well as lift any import ban on Cuban cigars.

Von Anhalt said that his main motivation for running for the Governor’s seat was seeing all the mistakes that were made by current Governor and former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Von Anhalt was passionate in saying that Schwarzenegger let down the people of California.

Prince Frederic von Anhalt will have a difficult road ahead of his as he is an independent candidate running for the position. Von Anhalt will most likely be running against Republicans Steve Poizner and Meg Whitmans as well as Democrat and current Attorney General Jerry Brown.
