Venus: The Two-faced Cat
A feral stray cat has become a sensation after her pictures and video were posted on Facebook, YouTubeand Reddit.
Venus, a ginger tabby, has two different colored eyes, one green, the other blue. But what makes her truly unique is the fact that her fur is different colors and her face is divided into two shades straight down the middle.
Venus was a stray that lived on a North Carolina dairy farm.
A friend of Venus’ current owners worked on the farm and posted some pictures on Facebook.
After seeing the photos, Christina, who asked that her last name be withheld, had to have the cat, although her husband Chris, was originally against it.
The Florida couple appeared on the Today show in New York City Wednesday to prove Venus is the real deal.
“We’ve heard everything from Photoshop to we’ve dyed half of her face,” Christina, who did not want her last name used, told Today. “This is just the way she was born, that’s it.”
Christina adopted Venus as a feral stray from a friend who works on a dairy farm in North Carolina.
The Youtube community agree, Venus is “gorgeous.”
“outstanding magnificent gorgeous beautiful kitty i absolutely adore its markings iv never seen a cat with these kind of markings just amazing what a little charmer big hugs to this sweet cat 100 thumbs up 5 stars superb style in a cat,” wrote one Youtube user.
“How incredibly gorgeous. Like someone took a paintbrush, dipped it in black paint, and then drew a line down her face and painted one side black. And the eyes…my oh my,” wrote another user.
“I love orange cats and I love black cats! This kitty is the best of the best all in one!!”
Not one to shy away from the lime light, Venus took to her Facebook page to thank her fans.
Hi Fans…this is Venus. Wow I can’t believe so many people love me so much! My Mommy has been so busy trying to keep up with my unexpected newfound fame and with the help of some nice people called TransMedia Group that understand our cause, we will be busy on a journey helping out my furry friends all over in many ways so we will be busy and not responding to the page as much for a short period and instead TransMedia will be managing it and making some temporary changes…….temporary. But, keep checking in because there are some exciting things planned for me in the coming weeks and you, my furry & human friends will be THE FIRST to know. In the meantime, I will be lounging around while Mommy is taking meetings for more exciting things. Don’t worry, my Mommy said that she will NOT do anything that will stress me out or make me feel uncomfortable or affect me in any negative ways. I am still her little baby and she will always put my well being and comfort level before anything……we’re only going to do things that I like and can have a ball—–of string…..Meow!! Love Venus
