After a week which saw a historical national healthcare summit with President Obama and the President’s constant cries of passing such legislation, the movement towards passing a healthcare reform bill is still at a standstill.
The Senate portion of the healthcare bill was on display during the healthcare summit where amongst the group was called nothing but a political ploy.
The House of Representatives are at a constant battle where there seems to be a true line amongst the blue dogs and the red dogs.
One person who is being looked at getting the House bill passed is none other than the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.
The large member House of Representatives are at constant odds about the healthcare overall and some members of the House have been calling for starting the process all over again. One representative in the spotlight is Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, the minority whip. He has been an opponent of the Senate bill and has been a nemesis of Obama in the past. Political analysts have said that Pelosi needs to get the votes of the Republican core, anti-abortion and fiscal conservatives, to secure the passage of the healthcare bill. It has been in the House where the most debate has been going on.
