Convicted murderer Amanda Knox may get a chance to get out of the Italian prison she has been sentenced to for 26 years. Her family based in the United States has started the appeal process through their lawyers after the judge involved in the case released his reasons for the conviction this week.
Knox who is just 22 years old was accused of murdering her roommate in a violent act of rage. Knox has repeatedly denied being at the apartment when the murder happened. The judge in the case does not believe the murder was premeditated but was the result of a violent, sexual and erotic act being played out by Knox and her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito. Sollecito was convicted in the murder as well, and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
A third person Rudy Hermann Guede, was also convicted in the murder in a separate trial. He was originally sentenced to 30 years but after the appeal process his time was cut down to just 14 years.
Lawyers are confident the appeal will be heard after reviewing the motivating evidence for the conviction. Knox’s lawyers hope to file the appeal by the end of this month.

With the mountain of evidence, her lack of a corroborating alibi, and her behavior and false accusations (not to mention the constant lying and omissions her PR company is relying on) she’s going to have to find a new hobby to keep her busy for the next 25 years.
Actually, there is no credible evidence placing either Knox or Sollecito in the room where the murder occurred. Website injusticeinperugia has a detailed examination of the “evidence” for anyone who wishes to learn more about the case.
I think there’s ample and plenty credible evidence. Only the AK supporters disregard it. There’s also http://www.truejustice.org/ if you want to play the blog game.
Either way, the courts in Italy will be the judge of her fate, not us, thank goodness
