On March 6th, President Barack Obama will be guest-starring on the popular television show “America’s Most Wanted.” The Fox show is celebrating their 1000th episode.
The host, John Walsh, interviewed the President at the White House, and the footage will aired on Saturday at 9 P.M.
John Walsh’s child, a six year old boy, was kidnapped and murdered nearly three decades ago. “I know Adam’s looking down on us,” Obama says to Walsh.
Fox reports that during the interview, President Obama promises to fund the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. This law involves the tracking and monitoring of sex offenders. It was signed by George W. Bush.
President Obama also talks about anti-crime programs, including the Recovery Act funds of $4 billion. The funds are supposed to boost local and state law enforcement capabilities.
Fox claims that “America’s Most Wanted” has found 43 missing children and brought them home safely. Additionally, Fox says the show has aided in the capture of more than 1,100 criminals over the past 22 years.
Walsh has stayed with the show since the very beginning, but he didn’t believe it would make 2010. “It’s kind of mind boggling,” he says, regarding the show’s longevity.
