Philip Markoff, otherwise known as the Craigslist killer will go down in history. The crimes he committed and how he was able to commit them helped to change the way that Craigslist is run today.

Craigslist no longer has an erotic section. Philip was not your typical killer. He was a medical student and looked like your everyday boy next door.

He was engaged to be married to his girlfriend on August 14, 2009. She never knew what he was doing when he did it. His friends and family were very surprised that such a nice man would do such awful crimes.

He would look for people on the internet on Craigslist. Then he would set up appointments with them. Two of his victims he robbed.

The other victim he robbed and then killed when she fought back. While in jail awaiting trial, he tried to commit suicide several times. He eventually committed suicide on August 15, 2010.
