Abandoned Little Jane Doe Toddler Identified

A 4-year old girl abandoned on a doorstep in South Carolina last week and called Little Jane Doe by police officials there has been positively identified now as Zoe Brown, a resident of Marietta, GA. When the toddler was discovered late Tuesday evening, she was dressed in a shirt displaying the message “Auntie Loves Me” with a note pinned to her diaper asking that the finder call the Division of Family and Child Services.

According to the Huffington Post, after police investigators discovered the child’s identify, they arrested both of her parents and charged them with the unlawful neglect of a child.

Police used such social media outlets as Facebook to request the public’s help in identifying Little Jane Doe and almost 2 million people attempted to help in her identification by reposting her photograph in search of her real identity.

The child was abandoned on the front porch of the home of Roy Campbell and he alerted authorities who transported her to the local hospital for a thorough physical examination.

Because her parents have been denied bail and are currently in jail, authorities are making a plea for any family members to identify themselves while little Zoe waits in foster care to be taken into the safety of a relative’s home.
