The divamazing Bette Midler advises young female stars to stop being gross

The wonderful Bette Midler visited Katie Couric’s show on Oct. 31, 2013 for a delicious Halloween talk. Bette Midler, well known for her shocking costumes and performances especially her infamous concert dressed as a mermaid, was asked by Katie how she feels about “folks” like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga pushing the envelope.

The divine Miss M spoke out about how the female stars today are gaining attention by being “gross” instead of being creative.

Bette explained “I think there’s a difference between pushing the envelope sexually and pushing the envelope creatively. I think you can be as creative as you want to be and as inventive as you want to be… but I think the idea of whipping other girls,… there’s a grossness to it that I think is not flattering… to the women themselves” Bette Midler spoke about how she does not like how the female stars are not only demeaning themselves but all women with gross routines.

Young female stars ought to take Bette Midler’s remarks to heart. They should make the divine queen of outrageous proud by listening to her points and bringing back the classier side of creative performance.
