Hartland Township, MI - the Wal-Mart employee who was fired following his intervention in the company parking lot that ended an assault in progress has been offered his job back following the firestorm of bad public relations coverage his termination generated.

30-year-old Kristopher Oswald has spurned the offer to return stating that the company is only making the overture as a result of the negative press and protests against the company. He suspects that the company will simply build on his record of the termination to fire him at some later date for cause.

Wal-Mart has expressed a public apology for termination Oswald and assured him that no mention of the termination will be placed in his employee file. Additionally, the company states that they have strict policies against retaliation and that measures will be taken to ensure he is well treated. Despite his rebuff at the offer to return to employment, the company has stated that the offer is laid before him and they will allow him to return back should he so decide.

The company has also offered to reimburse him for lost wages. In short, the world's largest retailer is making a good faith effort to right a wrong.
