(FACEBOOK)[/caption]The disappearance and murder of a Canadian missionary based in the Central American country of Belize only deepens as a second suspect in his killing has now been found dead.
64-year old Brian Townsend was doing missionary work in Belize prior to being reported missing from his home on Christmas Eve. He was subsequently found murdered.
Now the two main suspects who authorities believed were responsible for his death have been found murdered as well. The second suspect, Raulito Balona, was shot to death by an unknown assailant last week in a small village outside Belize City.
The first suspect, Raulito's brother Marlon, was discovered dead of chest and neck wounds in mid-January. The brothers were neighbors of Townsend, who had been living and working in the Valley of Peace village since 2005.
He had previously done missionary work in Edmonton. Police officials believe that the Balona brothers kidnapped Townsend from his home after attempting to rob him, then killed him and dumped his body at a location in Guatamala not far from the Belize border.
Townsend was allegedly robbed of certain clothing items, his laptop computer, as well as his truck. There are no suspects in the Balona killings.
