Convicted Baby-Shaker Louise Woodward is a Mom 16 Years After Trial

Shropshire, England – In a testament to the age old adage that “life goes on”, Louise Woodward has moved on from the days of her infamous trial for the baby shaking death of young Matthew Eappen, who was only eight months old at the time.

Her trial and conviction were 16 long years ago. Now, Woodward, age 35, is happily married to a local businessman by the name of Antony Elkes. The couple reside in a small village in this city. She is far removed from the city of Newton, Massachusetts where the incident occurred. What’s more interesting is that Woodward recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy; the couple’s first child.

Despite the media frenzy that surrounded United States, the trial actually garnered greater attention in her native United Kingdom. Prior to having her baby, Woodward worked as a dance instructor running her own school at Morville Village Hall. Indeed, she has made a transition to a healthy, productive adult.

Regardless of how some people may view Woodward, her trial, 15-year conviction, and commuted sentence, the truth remains that if everyone who’s ever served time in prison were to live as she has done for the past 16 years, the world would truly be a better place.
