Alabama Boy Takes His Life After Streaking at a Football Game

Christian Adamek, 15, committed suicide after being arrested for running naked across a football field in Huntsville, Alabama on September 27th.

A YouTube video was posted of the streaking prank hours after the game ended and students posted words of praise on Twitter. One student wrote, "Sparkman's new slogan is gonna be 'Welcome to Sparkman High School, Home of Christian Adamek'."

On the darker side of things, Adamek faced expulsion from Sparkman High School, as well as possibly being placed on the sex-offender register if found guilty by the Madison County court system. The teen's sister shared the possible consequences her brother faced on Twitter.

Michael Campbell, the school's principal, spoke to WHNT News after then teen's streaking incident.

"Public lewdness and court consequences outside of school with the legal system, as well as the school consequences that the school system has set up," said Campbell. He also mentioned that the "incident was not just a prank and needed to be treated seriously."

Adamek hanged himself on October 2nd and died from his injuries two-days later.

"Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time of bereavement," a statement from the school district read.

His death prompted an outpouring of shock and grief from Adamek’s friends and fellow students on Twitter. “RIP Christian Adamek, you’re a legend”, wrote Savannah Ledbetter

“Praying for the Adamek family! Even tho I didn’t know Christian I can tell that everyone loved him! You will be missed!” wrote Twitter user Amandajo.

At Wednesday’s memorial service, mother Angela Adamek thanked Christian’s friends and urged them to stay positive and ask for help when they need it.

“Remember to smile, don’t be afraid to do something goofy and remember the consequences of those actions, ask for help when you need it, ask for help if you think your friends need it if you don’t know what to do, be quirky, be happy, be smart,” she said.
