lapd Respond To Pacoima Shooting
According to the Los Angeles Times, local police were responding Friday afternoon to a report of a shooting at a home near a Pacoima middle school, officials said.
The Times reports:
Details about the reported incident were still unclear, but LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera said officers were called to the 9900 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard -- near Pacoima Middle School -- about 2:40 p.m.
Initial reports indicated a caller said he had shot two people inside a home, said Officer Virrueta of the LAPD's Foothill station. Virrueta and Herrera said police had not yet been able to confirm the condition of any victims.
The caller was believed to be locked inside the home, Virrueta said.
The middle school was being evacuated as a precaution, Virrueta said, though he and Herrera both noted the incident was not believed to be connected to the school.
Earlier today, a teenager who may have had a grudge against a teacher opened fire with a shotgun at a Colorado high school, wounding two students before killing himself.
